Embers Tavern & Grille — Restaurant in Columbia

I'll do my best to keep it brief:

Today was our first experience with Embers and I can't say enough in a few words to explain how pleased we are. As relatively recent transplants from Tx, we are still trying to get used to the strange cold sensation. It's about -15 outside and we're simply not going outside. As such, contemplation of starvation over exposure to the environment led to a quick search on Door Dash to Embers. The menu looked great so we chose to dine in over potential frostbite. About 30 minutes later was the Ahhhh, moment. We order a couple burgers, a philly cheesesteak, tater skins, and nachos. Now, I know what your thinking, never order take-out nachos. Here's the moment of truth and thank you baby Jesus for FINALLY granting a good person some wisdom. The nachos were delivered with the ingredients separated. Genius! The cheesesteak was great, kids loved the burgers and the nachos were delightfully fresh and crisp. What more can I say. They nailed it. So to conclude: Food delivered hot Food tasted great No soggy nachos and plenty for lunch tomorrow

Went with my wife to drop $120 on drinks and food for our regular date night. Heard Embers was good from somewhere so we drove 40 minutes to get there and decided to try it. We literally stood in the doorway of this establishment for 5 or 10 minutes watching the 8 or so staff members they had on at the time walk right past us multiple times without making eye contact or even acknowledging us standing there next to their "wait here to be seated" sign. Finally, some patrons who came in said they often just have you seat yourself, so we did that. Once seated about 5 min late at least two more employees came by and chatted with the tables on either side of us, clearing empty bottles and asking if everything was ok, while again, completely ignoring us sitting there. At this point we've seen 8-9 team members in this place. They did not even speak or make eye contact and walked right by us. It was so strange, I felt like we were in an alternate universe. Out of all the years I been coming here we went outside then waiting a good 10mins before we even got a Server then there was one server outside that said did we need a server I said yes so couple more mins went bye our server came out and told my wife before we could even order that he wouldn't be Serving us Alcohol because his bar tender said we looked under the influence then we Proceed to ask for the Manager that was at the bar which is the bar tender and she tells us that she didn't say anything like that but she would back her server if he said we was under the influence but he is the one that told us his bar tender was the one that said that AKA the Manager get your story straight and quit judging people but it ok for the people that was beside us somkin pot good job God bless you because yall need some help Ps update I am changing my review because it's not embers fault because I still love this place and the food is always on point and I just Recently when back they had better service so I am...
