Jack Brown's was pretty... mediocre. Now, first and foremost, let me say that the service and staff were excellent. Every waiter and bartender I interacted with was extremely nice and attentive, and definitely made me feel welcomed and attended to. As for everything else, it wasn't bad per se, but it wasn't particularly impressive either. For a restaurant that has the word "beer" in its title, you'd think they'd have a larger selection of beers on tap, to include specialty beers and IPAs. I also didn't think that the beers I got were nearly as good as the ones I've gotten at other nearby breweries or even dive bars. In addition, when they use the word "burger," they use that word very literally. The only other food items they have are French Fries and fried Oreos. (Whether you think that's a good or bad thing is likely a personal choice.) Watching the chef cook the burgers right in front of you was pretty cool, and does differentiate Jack Brown's from other burger joints. To conclude, I would reiterate my opinion that Jack Brown's was pretty mediocre. I'll probably be back in the future due to its location in Five Points, but it won't be at the top of my list.

We came to Jack’s looking for an outstanding burger. They ONLY do burgers and fries (crinkle cut or sweet potato). Oh, and fried Oreos. Literally nothing else. Our party of two got there around noon on Sunday and there were people standing around outside waiting for a table. I scanned the QR code to get on the waitlist and then noticed a couple of seats at the bar so we sat there. Andrew greeted us right away and got our drink orders. It took us a while to figure out what burgers to eat because there are so many choices, but we decided to go with the Dr Gronk and the Sunday special, Sgt Stedenko. I guess we must’ve hit their busiest time because it took about 45 minutes for us to get our food. We watched their system, as they served up burger after burger after burger, and they were very efficient, but the size of the grill limited their output. The food was hot and fresh when we finally got it, but not really worth the wait. Service was attentive, Andrew and Marquise were great. Ample street parking, free on evenings and weekends.

We had an absolute ball from the time we walked in the front door!! It was a very welcoming environment, we were greeted by more than one person when we walked in. After being seated, the trivia host came up to us and asked did we want to join the game. My coworker decided to join in and had a blast playing! The burgers were very good, they’re smash burgers that are seasoned very well. Get the Hennessy soaked onions to put on your burger…delicious!! My only complaint is they don’t have lettuce or tomatoes and those are essential on my burger but I enjoyed it without those add ons. Management came around to each table checking on the customers. He was very nice and we let him know how pleased we were with the service and atmosphere of the place. It’s like a neighborhood bar where everyone is welcome! We enjoyed ourselves so much we had dinner again there before we left town with the rest of the team. They enjoyed it as much as we did!! If I’m ever in Columbia SC again I will definitely be back!!

Okay so i need to be honest here - this is probably the worst experience I have ever had at a food service joint

Food is excellent

But staff UNBELIEVABLY unprofessional

There is NO excuse for the way they handled my situation - the staff has clearly not left high school

They lost a loyal customer to save face with college kids

I was embarrassed and quite honestly harassed - they lied to each other about a tab i had open - i owed $10 - and they let me in the door on my 5th visit - went all the way to the restroom bc i was coming in to pay my tab

I could tell something was off bc the employees were acting extremely strange - after 5 minutes the manager told me the i was not allowed in the building - i asked if i could have my cash app card i left to cover my tab when I made the money through Uber

The managers response was uhhhhh idk let me...I'm sorry WHAT?!!! You're telling me I'm never "allowed to come back" (mind you my tab was $10 ) & you're gonna have to "think" about if u can let me have my card back

I NEVER hurt anyone - i didn't do anything wrong - & they embarrassed me Infront of the entire bar over $10

Yeah food good staff - never had a job before apparently

This is not a good place to go unless youre a drunk college kid doing shady chiz

This happened 3 or so weeks ago - and I still think about it bc I'm like - make THAT make sense - it doesn't

No thanks you can have you excellent burgers and beer on tap and 100 beer club - oh don't worry I will NEVER willing step foot near this place again - unless of course I'm delivering food & walk past to the chick - fil - a where they know how to RESPECT customers & not gossip & lie to get someone removed from...

I work right up the street I had called to place an order on my lunch break called three times. No one answered the phone. I walked over there placed my order at 2:55. Remind you I am on my lunch break so it’s a 45 minute lunch break that’s why I was hoping to place the order on the phone and go pick it up instead I had to walk down there place the order & did I did not get my food until 3:33. By this time my client was already checked in which I had to get the waitresses attention to tell her that I was gonna have to go and get my money back because my client was already waiting. She then proceeded to tell me it would be ready shortly. It was coming right up. Continue to wait for about 10 more minutes they got my order ready , unfortunately I wasn’t even able to eat it due to the fact that my client was already waiting and I had already spent the majority of my lunch break over there waiting on my food . They weren’t even that busy they had about 6 people at the bar &4 tables, the music, and there was so loud I had to basically yell at the waitress . My food wasn’t even hot for as long as I had to wait. Was very disappointed this is not the first time this has happened either there. It’s been multiple times you know but everybody has a bad day. I figured I’d try again same thing. Just very unpleasant the workers were unpleasant I spent 18$ with no drink&...

One star is really reaching. Went about a week ago, waitress brought out the wrong food and knew she did it, I know this because when she checked in on us and asked was everything okay and we just kind of looked at each other, she then informed us that she knew what was wrong and would get it corrected. She mixed up our food with the table next to us and we got their food and vice versa. They however came in after us, ordered after us, and she went to their table to correct her mistake after she came to ours but they somehow got their remake food before we did and we're done eating and had left the restaurant before we got ours. I understand mistakes happen, I work in a restaurant as well so that part I get. It's how she catered to her friends before us even though we had come in first and sat down first and ordered a solid 20 minutes before that table arrived, and then got their remake food and finished it and left the whole building before we even got our remake food. Extra don't get it because we got their order and it was the plainest thing, it was the most boring order but hey to each their own. Our food was okay once we finally got it, would have been much better if it wouldn't have taken so long. We were there for an hour and a half and only 10 minutes of that was...
