We were there about a month ago, and the place was pretty busy, but we got seated in the bar area and were served by the bartender. I will never again allow them to seat me in the bar area and have the bartender as my server. She in no way had time to bartend and serve. We couldn’t even manage to get a glass of water...from a bartender. The food at Applebee’s is usually pretty decent, but The service and management at this particular restaurant is horrible. Every time I go into this Columbus restaurant, there is new management and different servers, and terrible service.
My husband and I were really missing the food so we were gonna try it just last night, but when we walked in the door, it wasn’t even that busy, and guess what? New manager seating tables, and he sucked at it so badly. It wasn’t busy, and yet 6 people waiting to be seated at the door. That was 2 tables, not including us. This manager did not even acknowledge us at all as he grabbed 2 menus to seat the first table. Same thing happened when he returned to seat the second table, and as they walked by us, one of the customers laughed and said we should just seat ourselves, so that was an indication to me that they had been waiting for awhile. The guy seating these people looked like he hated his life. We decided to escape to avoid any disappointment. Something needs to be done to help this restaurant survive. It in no way deserves 3.4 stars average...2 at best, and I personally wouldn’t even give it 2 stars. Read moreOn 6/1/18 at approximately 8:30pm I showed up to Applebees in their car side to go to receive my order. When I ordered online it was estimated that my order will be done at 8:35pm. I waited over 15 minutes to receive my order. The entire time employees would be looking outside the the window and talking to each other. Not once did someone come out and tell me they were busy or that my order would be coming out late. After waiting 15 minutes past my pick up time I decided to leave. I no longer wanted the food. As I was backing up an employee came out with my order. I pulled forward again.
I asked him if they usually leave a customer sit outside for 15minutes with no communication that the food order was on its way. He told me that after a certain time it's not the employees job to come out and do car side to go. It's the customers job to come inside and pick it up. Customers just arnt aware of it because the online ordering doesnt state that. Now I'm furious. That means my food has been sitting off to the side for 15 minutes because I didn't come inside because I wasnt aware of a rule that wasnt stated to me!
I love Applebees. I eat here all the time and although the customer service isnt always the best I continue to come back because I love the food. I always leave good reviews and suggest it to friends and family, but I'm disgusted. This was by far the worst experience I have ever received. I waiting 20minutes for cold food. The only good part of my experience was the man who ordered my food. He kept himself calm the entire time I was upset.
Sadly, him treating me nice doesnt change the fact of anything that happen. I'm very upset and pretty sure I wont be returning...
Read moreIf I could put zero stars I would. My latest experience was on a Sunday evening, not even busy at the time. They couldn’t figure out where to sit 3 adults and 3 children because their TWO tables that can accommodate 6+ people was taken? Mind me, half the place was empty.
Finally we were seated.
Hostess young ladies brought us our drinks. Waiter presented himself and took our order. Seems like he was juggling more then he can handle because we never saw him again, until later on in the evening once the supervisor was involved.
We ordered a beer that didn’t arrive until I had to go pick it up at the bar, 45min after we were already sitting there.
To make a long story short, we ordered food and waited 30 long, drenching minutes with 3 children under 5. Nothing had game and neither had the waiter. (Q)? He didn’t even come ask us how we were doing or if we needed anything else?
Well at this point I’m trying to flag someone down to come and figure out where our foods at.. well it ended up being that the computers were “down” and our order was never entered. So now I’m furious? Why couldn’t they just simply communicate with us and say, hey this is what’s going on. Take some chips and something for the kids and we wouldn’t have had a problem with it. I think the waiter just forgot to put the food in, IMO. Nope nothing. We eventually got our food and GTFO of there. We still ended up paying for a portion of our food, some of it was discounted. It was just a mess. I wish they would get it together because I love their food, and there’s certain people that work there that do...
