Found this gem that just opened. It is fantastic if you're looking for halal and Mediterranean. Adding diversity to the west side for our culinary environment.
I got the lamb platter with their house sauce and hot sauce on the side. Portion size is great for the price. The chunks of gyro lamb meat were soft and flavorful. I love the house sauce since most places make it super thick and mayo-based. It's their version of tzatziki. The rice isn't soggy and you can pick your vegetables. The hot sauce is another highlight. It's bright red but doesn't have that vinegar taste like most American hot sauce. It is galicy and full kick of spices of sweet peppers and jalapeño.
The thing I have though is their chicken samosas. I can just eat those all day. They have a slight kick to them and the chicken is seasoned very well. The only way you don't like this is if you hate flavor and Mediterranean spices. These things are pretty darn big. You don't even need a dipping sauce for these.
The last thing I had with my meal was tea. Served piping hot. So let it cool for a bit or you'll burn those taste buds off. And it was glorious. There is a sweetness and spices that warm you up, especially during this lovely Ohio winter snap.
They do have cakes and desserts that I saw but I had to stop my gluttonous stomach. I'll just have to come back again and try more of their menu and those desserts if I don't eat my fill of samosas.
So stop by. Support the local business and your taste buds will...
Read moreStumbled onto this brand new gem by a lucky accident. We were in the area with family at the hospital down the street and needed a break from the cafeteria. We wanted something that was real, fresh, and not fast food.
Walked into a clean, well organized location and was promptly greeted by the owner. The menu seems simple but allows for customization of choices. With choice of meat you can make it a platter, salad, or a gyro. Saw dubai chocolate on the menu and Iwas excited to try it. Apparently they make it in house! It was so delicately sweet and a nice size for sharing.
Ultimately we ordered a chicken platter with the onion, cucumber, and tomato salad, and the white sauce (order this sauce!), a lamb gyro, and a tiramisu (home made). Each compenent was tasty, the rice was fragrant. Just know the platters are very generous and in my opinion could be split between two people.
Definitely reccommend. The experience was so pleasant, with the owner gifting us a chai tea (which was so spicy and delicious). The food was hearty, comforting,...
Read moreThis place provided a great first experience, he gave out a sample of the beef and chicken curry along with chai. I was sad at first that I didn't order the Chicken Curry as it had a great flavor with a slight heat. But then I tasted my chicken Wrap and I was not disappointed. I will go again but struggle to decide between chicken curry and chicken Wrap.
The Chai tea is heavy cardamom which for me is a great thing but maybe not for everyone. My wife ordered the mix over rice, I would recommend getting some veggies with it and the red sauce to give it a little more flavor. I thought the lamb was good but the chicken needed the other components that my wife didn't order.
I did not try the sambusa, fries, or desserts but the people in front of me got the banana pudding and fries. One of the two owners was at the front and was super friendly. Great service and delicious food. I'd do wish there were a few...
