First time I went to jarfly with my friends we encountered the rudest servers I have ever seen and the food was so bland, the "ghost pepper" sauce had no heat and the Philly's were tasteless. Not to mention they held onto our cards for 15 minutes. Will never go again.
EDIT: Since they deleted my review off of their facebook page, I will add it here. So just to clarify something here, Ghost Peppers are ranked in the the top ten for hottest peppers in the world and your sauce made with said peppers are not intended to be "mouth scorchers". Luckily you did supply some Habenero sauce at the table that added some heat. But to go into my experience with the bad customer service some more, it started when myself and another coworker joining our friends who had already been seated at a table and we had to grab two chairs since there was not enough room. The moment I sat down the waitress came to the table and asked me what I would like to order and when I responded "could you please start at the other end of the table" since at this point I had not been given a menu yet and had no idea what you served. She responded "Well that just doesn't make and sense" and started right next to me saying she is taking the orders now. So I ordered the Philly which 4 out of the 7 people at our table ordered. The other orders at the table were the BLT, Duck tacos, and the Cauliflower Popper in the ghost pepper sauce. Once all the food came out it all looked great, other than my friend who had to wait an additional 15 minutes to get his BLT. Then all of us who had the Philly's noticed the lack of flavor and hardness of the bread, almost like it was stale. I will say the chicken and dumpling soup was delicious and I did enjoy that. After that my friend asked me to try his poppers to see if they were hot to me and I said there was zero heat. When he asked the waitress if they forgot to put the sauce on she said "Ouh no it is on there and it should be hot". So he ended up pouring aforementioned Habanero sauce on them to get some actual heat. After we got done eating we gave the waitress out cards to pay for the order and after not seeing her for ten minutes we started checking our balances to see if they had been swiped yet and saw that they had now, we had to ask another waitress to see why we were still waiting when they had so few people there. After another five minutes she came back and dropped the cards on the table and said "I don't know who any of you are so you can figure it out" and walked away. Like I mentioned before, this was just one of the worst experiences I have had in a restaurant and I worked a few years in one so I understand how annoying it can be and the stress that can come out it. So I don't try to judge places to harshly, but your restaurant truly did stand out, I was so excited to try it since I had great expeirences at Nonic, but somehow it was so much worse to have my expectations so...
Read moreToday was my first time attempting to try this restaurant. I arrived around 245/250pm...I walked in and stood at the podium to be seated. A female server saw me, but continued to do whatever it was she was doing...I waited more...FINALLY a male server saw me(and the lady that was standing behind me), he asked me had I been helped, I stated no. He showed me to my seat(I went to the bathroom). I came back and LITERALLY had time to look over the ENTIRE menu(because that's how long I sat and waited to be served or even to have my drink order taken. The same male server that sat me down, took the people's drink order that came in waaaay after me...I waited even more, still wasn't approached to have my order taken...finally after feeling invisible I grabbed my purse and left. The same female server that saw me earlier then decided she wanted to "ma'am" me when she saw that I had gotten frustrated and left! I called back up to the restaurant to speak to the Store Manager(Margaret) who stated "I wish that you had said something to me before leaving, I could have gotten you a gift card"...Geesh! THAT'S THE POINT, NO ONE APPROACHED ME TO SERVE ME! She than asked me what would I like her to do about my experience...hmmm...let's see...That is the most ridiculous question to ask! I honestly felt that my kind wasn't welcomed to this establishment since I appeared "invisible".
UPDATE
I am currently here at the restaurant. I was greeted properly this time by a hostess that was set in place. I chose to sit outside under one of the umbrella tables. Daniella is my server and she is awesome! I wanted to simply come back because the owner expressed how his restaurants are all well established. I chose to get the grilled cheese(prosciutto, sharp white cheddar, black truffle oil, served with Tomato Bisque), omg, it was delicious! It's a very small sandwich, quartered, but I am full just off it! If you like cheese, you'll love this! This was my first time having Tomato Bisque, and it was wonderful! They also serve their drinks with shaved ice! I give this...
Read moreStopped in for lunch after running a few errands today. I went for the mushroom Bahn Mi sandwich with sweet potato fries as a side. The wife went for the blackened Mahi sandwich with fries. Our appetizer was Elote dip & chips. The dip had a lot of flavor but was a cold dip, so the chips may not be the best pairing. Still, tasty though. The wife ate most of the Mahi sandwich but it became a bit of a texture issue for her. It's served on a regular burger bun with coleslaw topping. Tasted good, but kind of got a little soggy after a few minutes. Might be better on a different type of bread maybe? For me, the Bahn Mi was ok. Not much protein to speak of, just a veggie sandwich. Something to keep in mind when ordering would be your protein needs for the day. Anyway, not bad food by any means. Atlanta prices though. The mahi sandwich with fries is $20 for what amounts to a lunch size portion. A bit steep for the area. Bahn Mi was $17-ish. The appetizer was $11 and we had water to drink. Before tip the total was mid fifties for two lunch sandwiches and an appetizer. Again, a little on the pricey side. Parking is in the rear and side of the building. Entry is on the front, street side, of the building. I think the building complex is meant to be walkable, but not having parking side entrances feels a little weird, not fully thought out. Just the humble opinion of a foodie. 🤷♂️ Service was great. Atmosphere was ok. Felt a little beachy with the colors and the concrete floor and large garage doors. The place is worth a try at least once. Just keep in mind that the prices are little high for the the portions you're getting. If you're okay with splurging a little, then yes I would recommend giving it a try. If your budget is a little tight, might want to do some research on other spots first. For what we ordered, the area we were in, the prices felt like they were probably double what they should be. Again, personal opinion. 👍 Anyway, was...
