After much back & forth, I finally decided that this review NEEDED to be left. I took my boyfriend here the evening before Father's Day, first time at this location. There were MAYBE 10 cars in the parking lot. The side that we were seated had an 8 top that were leaving and a family at a booth waiting for their check. We were seated next to the now empty 8 top in a booth, but in front of the family in the booth. While looking over the menu, I was IMMEDIATELY distracted. Two little girls dressed in shorts, tshirts & flip flops, both seemed under 10 years old, came out to the now empty 8 top with towels, a bus pan and a holder, proceeded to put on gloves, and clear the dishes from the table. I stopped doing what I was doing and stared at those 2 little girls clearing that table. There were 2 staff members behind the bar, the one that had seated us and another one that finally saw me staring at the girls and said, "I didn't even know they were out here." Our server, which we didn't know she was at the time, walked past our table and gave the other table their tab and left again still not acknowledging us. I guess it really didn't too much matter because I was still focused on those 2 little girls clearing that table. Because I was still staring, one of the workers finally came from behind the bar to stop them. I heard one say, "But we were trying to help." Her response, "I know, but you can't be doing this in front of customers." They begrudgingly took their gloves off and left. By that time, the majority of the dishes were in the bus pan. She then turned & asked if our server had taken our drink order. I said, "No. Were those little girls just cleaning that table off as if they work here?" She said, "Yes. I didn't know they were out here. They're waiting for theira to come pick them up." We ordered our drinks. It was VERY apparent that that was not the first time those little girls had ever done that. The server brought our drinks which we had to swap. We ordered an appetizer minus jalapeños from her. A few minutes later, the mama of the little girls came to let us know that jalapeños is pre-mixed in the cheese sauce. So we ordered another appetizer from her. The server brought that out and took our entree order. I kept my menu to order dessert later. The server brought our entree, and we NEVER saw her again. We never saw ANYONE again for about 15-20 minutes. Finally, after yelling out "Hello" several times with no response, I went to go find somebody. The 2 little girls' flip flops were in the middle of the floor on the other side of the restaurant near the kitchen which is where I went. I saw them seated at a table way in the very back. As I was about to go into the kitchen, our server appeared. She said, "Sorry bout that." And followed me back to the table. I said, "May I have a refill on my tea please? He would like some water & some tartar sauce. And can you bring us some more biscuits and a couple of to-go boxes?" She came back with the drinks in to-go cups, the 2 boxes, our tab, and said that they were out of biscuits. I fully intended to order desserts to go, but after getting our drinks in to go cups it seemed like a hint for us to get out. The bigger hint was after she laid the tab down, she just stood there. Even after I looked for my pen and found it, she was still just standing there. I finally just looked at her the same way she was looking at me until she walked away. Several minutes later, the mama of the 2 little girls came over to clear the dishes from our table. She said, "Can I interest you guys in some dessert?" I replied," Aren't you closed?" She said, "Not yet. I can get some for you." I said, "No, we're good." Upon leaving, the 8 top and the booth where the family sat still needed bussing. As I was going into the restroom, the oldest little girl was coming out. I'm quite sure those 2 little girls were allowed to finish bussing both...
Read moreIf there were an option for a negative rating, it would certainly be warranted for this establishment. Referring to what we were served as "food" feels generous, considering the extremely subpar quality of the entire dining experience.
Our group of nine visited this Red Lobster location to celebrate my friend’s graduation from basic training at Fort Moore, but unfortunately, the evening was overshadowed by poor service, long delays, and disappointing meals. The restaurant itself appeared to be in a state of disrepair, and the service was both slow and unprofessional. We waited over 30 minutes for three alcoholic beverages and a few sodas, with our entrees arriving more than two hours after we were seated. Despite arriving at 7:10 PM, our meals didn’t reach us until after 9:30 PM.
One particularly frustrating moment occurred when a member of our party ordered a margarita, only to be asked by a manager nearly 20 minutes later whether it should be served on the rocks or frozen— a question that should have been asked when the order was first placed. Considering the restaurant was nearly empty on a Friday night, it's difficult to comprehend why our order took so long, especially when several of the dishes were either overcooked or improperly prepared. The lobster was severely overdone, the crab legs were insubstantial, the sirloin was tough and difficult to eat, the broccoli was undercooked and had an odd smell, and the mashed potatoes were watery with an almost steamy appearance as though freshly microwaved.
Our party ended up consuming more water and biscuits than the actual entrees, which was an early indication that something was wrong. Despite this, the bill for our party came to $50-60 per person, even after a minimal "compensation" for the wait was provided by a manager who appeared to be on probation. This gesture felt inadequate given the extent of the issues we encountered throughout the evening.
In summary, this experience was marked by unprofessionalism, irresponsibility, and disappointment on all fronts. For a restaurant chain as well-established as Red Lobster, this location on 13th St. displayed an unacceptable lack of standard and etiquette. It is clear that significant improvements are needed in both service and food quality, as the current state of affairs falls far short of what should be expected from such an...
