Dined at Kai's Crab Boil, I ordered black muscles, and they were unusually funny tasting, I can only describe the muscles in that way. They were bigger than I've had before, I've never seen them that big. When a worker came to the table for what I'm guessing to get feedback on the meal; you know that "how is everything" questions, that they ask that sounds like they really don't want to know, but asking for rountine sake, I shared with him how weird the muscles tasted, he then asked if I ever had black muscles before, and yes, I have sir and yes I know the difference between black and green muscles, to answer his next stupid question. I was disturbed at his questions as well, as I couldn't find the word I needed to describe this funny taste. And that's when he just walked away as if he didn't care for my feedback in the first place. I'm guessing because of that, all sales final note on their menu were most likely the reason he walked away with that, oh well you outta luck, attitude. I thought perhaps it was the sauce, which I ordered what may have been their own sauce, so I requested some salt and pepper, (I know that sounds weird, salt & pepper on muscles but I was trying to get rid of that funny unsual taste) but after adding the salt & pepper, it still had that funny taste. After tasting the about the 3rd muscle, I could not take that funny taste anymore. Then, I requested fresh lemon to squeeze over them to wait and try them as leftovers in hopes that the lemon with the salt & pepper would take away the funny taste. The next day, I could not finish the taste of 1 muscle. It was worse than meal one. My thoughts are that the muscles had to have been spoiled at day one, BUT whatever gave them that funny, unusual taste, I will never eat at this...
Read moreOk, so I’ll start off by saying the food is really good, can’t lie about that. There are some nice waitresses that work there as well.... that’s the reason I gave 3 stars.... NOW the lady that I believe owns this place... she isn’t the friendliest at all! I give her 1 star! Lol I’ve been to this place about three times, and each time she has been there as well. she doesn’t speak, she just stares at everyone’s tables like she thinks someone’s going to dine and dash! And I feel like if you own a business where you’re making thousands a day, and most likely going to be there to make sure everything’s running smoothly, and to make sure your workers aren’t giving too much food away, you should at-least be friendly to everyone who walks through that door! Me and my friend went a couple of weeks ago and she was just standing by the bar area with one of the hostess just looking around watching everyone eat... and we finish up and are leaving out and by this time she and the hostess are at the podium by the door and as we are walking out, she said not a thanks for coming or have a nice night.. no nothing. So I say dang..no thanks for coming or anything?... and that’s when she decides to say “thanks for coming” 😒. Blew me. I also feel There’s a certain crowd that gives her a lot of business and I think she needs to be more friendly towards this crowd.” Hint ,Hint”. Also there needs to be more diversity with the servers she has... unless she thinks someone outside of her race or who’s not caucasian is going to steal a potato or egg...
Read moreNot a good experience. I'm sure the food is delicious but we didn't have an opportunity to have the food because the service was so poor and uninviting. To start, the notices that the building is under "video surveillance", "you must pay for your food and can't cancel after an order or we will call the police" and "we can't seat you until your entire party arrives, and we can only hold tables for 5 mins" was an instant turn off for a shopping center restaurant. Then the hostess was rude or simply inexperienced. She paid no attention to us, didn't really want to deal with us as though we were bothering her, yet there were only about 6 other customers in the entire restaurant on a Saturday afternoon. To top it off, they require a 18% automatic gratuity for parties of 6 or more. Seriously? This isn't fine dining, good food I can imagine, but all the RULES is simply not a place where it would be a fun and enjoyable experience for the party that i was with during the holidays. Actually, there was another seafood boil restaurant down the road that we went to and it was wonderful! Friendly staff and fantastic food. It's unfortunate that we didn't have the same experience at Kai's, we had heard about it and were excited to check it out, but after receiving the poor customer service and the 'requirements" posted everywhere in the restaurant we turned around and didn't waste anymore time at a place that we didn't...
