Excellent authentic Chinese cuisine and great service!
The wife and I stopped by at about 3:45 on a Thursday. We were the only dine-in customers for the earlier hour. We were greeted and seated promptly. We looked over our menus after ordering our beverages, which were delivered to our table quickly.
When ordering, our server was very knowledgeable about the dishes we asked about, and politely suggested a substitution when I tried to order the traditional Mala Pork Hoof. Unfortunately they needed some more time to prepare the trotter for the day, as it was a bit early for dinner.
I took up the server's suggestion, the Spicy Crispy Fish Fillet ($12.95). It was excellent! Light and fluffy breaded and deep fried with a very good balance of heat from some red chilies. Fresh green onion filled out the mix nicely. There wasn't much oil present, which was a big plus. I finished the entire entree, even though I probably should have left some room. The steamed rice that came with it was fluffy and moist.
The wife ordered the Spicy Mala Baby Ribs ($11.95). The pork was tender, and as the server explained, the rib-bones were still present in the bite-sized portions. This may be strange to some, but was old hat for us. The mix of the Szechuan peppercorn and chilies were superb, not to heavy on the heat and the numbing sensation. Not too oily either.
For an appetizer we shared the traditional pot-stickers (8 for $5.95). It was pretty standard; the pastry was moist and soft, and not at all dried out. It did not have that tough quality that frozen previously prepared seems to have. It was very fresh.
We drank unsweetened iced tea ($1.95), with free refills. It wasn't over-brewed and was refreshing.
Overall, the experience was very nice. Excellent service and affordable, large portions. We will definitely make this a regular stop when we want some...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI used to live over by this place and would go 3+ times/week. Moved from there a few years ago, but was nearby, so I dropped in. Prices, as everywhere, have gone way up, but the food is still really good.
I got my favorites (general tso's chicken, bean curd pork, and pork fried rice) and asked for it all extra, extra spicy. The pork fried rice was at that level of spice. There's a good amount of vegetables and meat in there as well. The general tso's was less spicy, but since I dined in, the breading was still good and not soggy. The bean curd pork was probably in between the other two in spice level. It was good, but I wish it'd been spicier.
I did get white rice with those two dishes, and water and hot tea to drink. There's sugar and sweet n low on the table to use.
Service was ok, they were getting busier as I sat there, so they didn't check on me too much. But they did bring me extra white rice with the boxes for leftovers. I spent almost $50 with tip, but I did get a good amount of food. I'll definitely be back, this is one of my favorites...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI don't typically write reviews but this place was so excellent I wanted to give it an honest assessment.
Ordered online through their website. It was efficient and easy to navigate. I chose a few customizations and add-ons easily. We got the Wonton Soup, 2 egg rolls, fried rice and General Tsos with extra chicken.
Food was literally ready in 8 minutes. 7:16pm I submitted the request and it was completed at 7:24pm.
I walked in and the gentleman was polite, had my name ready and the food next to him. I couldn't believe how quickly everything was.
The food was exceptional and everything was both hot, and also better than I expected. The general tsos had a nice little kick but nothing too crazy.
Portions were remarkable and I anticipate getting another 3 servings out of the chicken, which would total at least 5 meals out of the $27 price tab. That's ~$5.40 per meal for hand cooked, quality American Chinese food with superb service.
We will absolutely go back to Little Dragons and if you've read this far, I...
