The Mango Cafe is absolutely amazing! I live in Cincinnati and came to Columbus to visit a good friend on a Wednesday night. We passed this hookah bar on the way to all the hot spots on the main strip and I knew we were going to have to make this place our last stop after last call. We stopped in at 3 am and were greeted enthusiastically by one of the two owners. I could not believe the service we received because in Cincy, you walk up to a counter, get number for your hookah, and eventually a runner brings you your smoke on a very impersonal level. But here, we met both of the owners within the first five minutes, who were happy to accommodate a veteran hookah smoker. The hookah itself was beautiful and the smoke, cherry and lemon, was as smooth as silk. They also offer an impressive ethnic menu for the late night customers...hummus, mixed pies, drinks...and their music playlist was right on point for the mid week social elite! You can smoke at a very comfortable table outside of the bar, or at one of their pristine set ups on the inside. They serve 18 and up customers so our "little friend" was no problem at all! In less than 10 minutes after placing our smoke order, the second owner came out to stir and replace our still burning coals to ensure an even smoking experience, and personally spoke to us about our experience and how, if at all possible, they could make it better. My friend and I simply smiled and assured them that here in Columbus, their hookah bar was doing everything right. I wish that they would open a hookah bar in Cincinnati, because that city really needs to find a better way to welcome and appreciate their smokers. The price, atmosphere, service, and smoke are more than I have ever experienced at ANY smoke establishment in my life, and believe me when I tell you, I am a serious hookah smoker. I will ALWAYS make Mango's Cafe my final destination when partying in Columbus, Ohio...and...
Read moreThis place is not as well as I was told. The first couple time I felt like they treated us right. After a couple time they start to treat us like a garbage. It took forever for them to bring drinks that we order. I am upset to say that the people there, that are serving us are ridiculous. They not only take forever to bring us our drinks. They love taking our pictures to show how good they are. But when it comes to cleaning our table they don’t take care of it well enough. It seems like all the employees are lazy and doesn’t want to give us what we order. There is a worker who literally put the food on the sofa instead of taking the dirty dish away from the tables that was filled of it. The place is not our home. I wasn’t sure where to put those empty dishes. But still , are we responsible to clean the table ourself? The waiter should be cleaning, instead giving us nasty attitude when we ask them to clean our table right? They literally put the food on the empty sofa instead of cleaning our table that was full of dirty trays and empty drinks cups/bottles. As a costumer are we supposed to tell them to clean the table?? instead of putting food on the sofa , because the table was full of empty dishes????? I get it is easy to miss customer when it’s busy. But out of a proximately 8 table indoor and approximately 10 tables outdoor. And only 2 or 3 tables are busy, how can they miss to clean the tables and the drink that was ordered? They still they managed to forget to make a drink for approximately 1 out of 8 or more empty indoor tables and 10 outdoor empty tables? We were there between 3:43 pm Et to 8:30 pm, which consider happy hours. So for someone who is visiting for the first time could be good but then it could be worst later. Or who ever is visiting this place for the first time can be better. But looking at more people reviews as a first timer vs my own experience. I doubt this...
Read moreI worked at mangos a few years ago as well as other hookah bars around the city. Mangos has the best hookah experience of all the places ive attended or worked at. I dont go as often as i used to because i do my smoking at home now. I always loved and still love the atmosphere and cleanliness when it comes to the hookah side of mangos. While i was an employee and regular customer at mangos i offered many suggestions that have recently been becoming reality. However i am saddened to say that when it comes to the new food menu i feel i am wasting my money. For example i paid 8 dollars for fried pickles and received what i would call a 3-4 dollar amount and the tenders are more like nuggets. The fries and potato wedges however are great. The desserts smoothies and teas have always been amazing. But i do miss the mixed pies and falafels. I cannot say if this is because i oder my food around times they are busy or what the issue is. But two out of the three times i have ordered food i have had items missing, made incorrectly, or feel i paid for way more than I received. Only one time did i think i got my moneys worth and was satisfied. All in all. Best hookah spot in Columbus and perhaps the food service is better on location but ordering for home i wouldn’t recommend. All things considered its worth noting i am attempting to work at mangos again so the positives do indeed outweigh the negatives. I think they just need a better kitchen staff or some fine tuning in the...
