Contacted via email to ask about check in age they replied by saying they only allow 21 and over which is OK but then they made a comment about not allowing "drugs or alcohol" well 1 drugs are illegal and 2 im not 21 so I can't buy alcohol so basically the basis to this comment was about me only being 19 so they age discriminate and it isn't just the usual irrational 21 or over check in age all hotels have..
In addition the very unprofessional owners remarks below only further prove my point i don't think I was ever rude to start out with the "no drugs or alcohol" comment was rude and uncalled for and personally I feel that the owner only mentioned that because I'm underage and that must mean I'm immature and/or a drug addict.. also feel the rant about "young people these days" about entitlement was also uncalled for.. i have no sense of entitlement.. you didn't offend me if anything your the easily offended one and I dislike rules that serve no purpose I just can't understand why the need for such a policy exists in hotels that don't serve alcohol other then the assumption that all people between the age of 18-20 are immature and shouldn't be trusted.. Ive have jobs were I've delt with the public it sucks but As the owner of any business your there to provide a service to people not judge them.. especially ones they've never met. If that's to much to ask for maybe you should try a different...

Read moreI've stayed at Harrison House twice in the last few months and both times it was lovely. Lynn is a great hostess and wonderful cook. Breakfast is always delicious and includes many home-made ingredients above and beyond the usual: coffee roasted in-house, flour she grinds herself, homemade yogurt, greens from the garden, etc. The house is quiet at night and the rooms are very cozy and comfortable. It's also walking distance to the OSU campus, the Short North, and the Gateway Center, so there are lots of eating options nearby. I'm looking forward to staying here again the next time...
