Marino's Seafood Fish & Chips had been built in 1971 to be an Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips.
In 1985, Arthur Treacher's Fish & Chips left that building and Marino's Seafood Fish & Chips took over that building [which looks pretty much the same except that the signs naming the restaurant have been changed and that the large lamp in front of the building no longer rotates].
I arrived only a few minutes after their 11:00 a.m. opening. The restaurant had been quite crowded, well before the traditional "noontime rush," because it had been filled with laborers who had been working on nearby outside construction projects who had come in to eat [and also to recover from the icy weather that morning].
I decided to order the fairly-traditional [at least for a "fish and chips" place] Fish Platter [two pieces of fish, chips, two hushpuppies, and coleslaw or macaroni salad].
The person at the ordering counter told me that their "special" that day was that exact same Fish Platter. But I didn't actually get a discount.
When she asked me what drink I wanted and I told her that I did not want a drink, she reduced my price from a higher price [that evidently would have used to pay for my drink] back to the regular price of $7.90.
My understanding of the word "special" has always been that you pay less for the same thing or that you get more without having to...
Read moreIn short the food is great however, the customer is always right policy does not exist there. I purchased dinner and got on the other side of town to realize that I was short several food items and I was told by what seemed as management that I could get my intire order replacement at no charge (only to find out after I wasted time ⛽ to get there only to be told that) " I've been in business for 40 yrs and provide a great product." Sure the food is great but my question is what does that have to do with why my items NOT being in the bag and also what's more important in business making sure that a customer keeps coming back or sacrifice on behalf of several food items thus negating the concerns of a patron who spends his money. in my opinion it's better to obey than to sacrifice, in other words it's better to make sure that your customers taking care of than to treat a REGULAR CUSTOMER as though their dollar isn't green enough. I have a bad taste in my mouth due to all this, I WILL NOT 🚫 be returning there?!!!! The law of reciprocation comes into play for everyone. You treat customers bad, you won't get another dollar of my money for not even the next week let alone 40 years 🧐!!I told I told the lil guy he can keep the food items and what he doesn't have he can keep that as well, thank you...

only bad thing which really isn't a bad thing I can say is that I wish they had tables as well because the booths are a little small but that's not to bad because they have outside sitting on a nice day
But the owner Harry is amazing and make you feel at home even tells you which tables are his favorite to sit at I enjoyed watching him interact with his customers you can tell he is doing...
