Monarca did not disappoint! We arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and the wait was around 15 minutes for 2 people. Food: Chips and salsa are complimentary and we opted to try the mexi-corn appetizer, which was AMAZING!! But messy to eat and wasn’t served with any small plates. I will definitely order it again in the future though! For dinner I had the rice bowl with shredded chicken and my boyfriend had 3 enchiladas (1 chicken, 1 beef, 1 cheese). My bowl was fresh and delicious and large enough for me to have enough leftovers for lunch the next day! He enjoyed his enchiladas even though the cheese one was a bit overcooked and tough. Overall the food was fresh, flavorful, and tasty! Not to mention very affordable. I’m already looking forward to coming back! Service: prompt, friendly, and thorough! Our waters stayed filled and dishes were cleared from the table quickly. We never felt like we were waiting to be checked on. The manager also came by towards the end to ask how our experience was, which was nice! Atmosphere: I am personally a huge fan of the decor and music inside! It’s modern but still cozy and inviting. Definitely very hip and the music was great. There is a review on here complaining of the music being played outside, but I didn’t mind it at all. It’s not your traditional Mexican restaurant, but I think that’s a good thing!

Outside of the waitress being an absolute doll and the aesthetic appeal of the restaurant I would go somewhere else. Whoever is in charge of the food descriptions for the menu needs to specify which items are freshly made and which ones are TV dinners because $20 for Dallas shrimp, refried beans and half a palm full of bland rice is ridiculous. I did go with a group and some of the items they ordered looked more appetizing although I didn't try any of theirs. The hostess that day also gave us a hard time and was overall not friendly. Since I didn't know the young lady's circumstances or what could have put her in that mood I'll allow grace. Also, I noticed the bar tender stuffing his face in between serving customers. I understand eating in your downtime but at least be more discreet instead of doing it at the bar itself while still serving . Would I return? No, but everyone's experience is different so I would advise going if you want to try something other than the Habanero shrimp.

First time here...3.5-4... place was packed but we were able to get a seat quickly and the food came out pretty quickly actually. Had chips and salsa with a medium cheese dip, steak and shrimp fajitas and toastones, 2 waters....$51 ish dollars. Little bit more pricey then some other Mexican restaurants for what you actually get but not terrible. Can't go wrong with cheese dip, I could eat a bucket of that stuff! Food was good but the fajitas I would have maybe expected a little more meat/shrimp. Music was blasting, a little too loud for me but I get it. Toastones were good and flavorful! I will come back and eat again. 4/20/25 I'm a bit disappointed that they charge $11 for a medium cheese dip and the container is not even full.(See pic) That is a bit ridiculous! And I was able to get a large bag of chips and large salsa for like $4... Granted I know the cheese dip is like a hot commodity and who doesn't love it but If you are going to charge that much, give the appropriate amount!

Bum arrival music is playing outside nothing wrong with that but it is kind of loud so as we walk in the music is even louder inside I couldn't hold a conversation with the person across from me without yelling so conversation was really minimum but I will say the atmosphere is really nice Love the decor and it's very welcoming but if we can change something the volume of the music inside turn it down just a tad it's almost like you're at a concert or a club and that's not the atmosphere that you would want while you're eating. The food was okay It wouldn't be something that I would ride home about but for what it is it was all right could it be better of course have I had better in the surrounding area most definitely but I will say this don't skip on the guacamole It was very good and I love how they came out and made it at the table and you picked what you wanted in your guacamole but if I was to critique something with the guacamole I would say a little bit more cilantro and salt and that will be it but other than that it was awesome. We had the lunch one and the lunch too but I'm not so quick to dismiss a restaurant I give it at least three tries before really putting it to rest. The reason why I gave the service a one is because our waitress only came and checked on us twice for the whole hour we were there and the one time she came to the table was to see was everything okay and that was it and upon that I had to ask her could I get a refill on my water and she could clearly see that it was empty The majority of the servers were in the booths eating talking and on their phones and our server had no excuse because she was two booths behind us so no excuse for the lack of service. If the owner of this restaurant or even a manager is reading this review I would say training needs to be in effect when it comes to customer service for some servers because I've seen two or three servers that were excellent and checked on their customers constantly and I'm a person that doesn't mind leaving big tips when it comes down to the service but this one only got $2 and like I said she was only at our table twice three times if you count bringing the check out of the whole hour we were there. But I will be giving this a try another time and hopefully the service and the quality of some of your foods are improved and again I love the atmosphere Great looking restaurant and the decorations are awesome but please work on the volume of the music it is way too loud inside the restaurant, and work on training your servers...

Beautiful restaurant, but service was absolutely awful. Our server Renee was entirely inappropriate, scatter brained, and inattentive. She was barely at our table. We were sitting there for at least 30 minutes before she came and got our order. It took her another 30-45 to get her to bring the checks and she couldn’t figure out how to run our card. She swiped our card so much that our bank locked our card and reported the transaction as fraud. We had to ask her multiple times for items. She walked up to our table with a cup of ice and said “I was supposed to bring someone something” and stood there air humping the cup while thinking. She also made several jokes about the Spanish language and how she mispronounces words on purpose. Our family is Colombian and did not appreciate her disrespect to Spanish speaking individuals. Food was okay, but lacked flavor. The rice was white, so not your typical Spanish rice.

EDIT: We had tried to use a visa gift card and our waitress had so many issues and could not figure out how to run it. So we had to use a different card, which is the one she locked because she still had issues. She even asked “are you sure there’s enough money in your account?” Disrespectful. $100 isn’t going to decline our card. Turns out the restaurant took all the money off of the gift card and we’re in the process of trying to get...
