Mother Bear's Pizza Columbus — Restaurant in Columbus

After a debate on Columbus Man, thought I would give this place a fair chance. My friend and I go in on Sunday 11/10 /24, 5 pm. There is no one waiting, a lady and child are standing on the other side of the hostess counter. We were not acknowledged so my friend said “ excuse me, what is the wait time? “ she spun around and sharply said “they are next” looking at the woman and child. It wasn’t nice at all. She suggested the bar . So we end up going in and sitting at the bar. Bartender seemed really nice but overwhelmed. We order 2 waters, 2 appetizers . The bartender forgot to get our waters. We saw she was busy and when we finally got them, she apologized and we said no worries. However, we never got our food. I flagged her down and she said she would check on it. She cashed out a few people then went to the back. Came back and said “he’s checking on it”. Not sure who she was referring to but to be honest her frustration was directed at us. We got up and left after 35 minutes and no food, These were just appetizers. As we were walking out she again told us “he’s checking on it !” . She was not nice, it was obvious she was angry with us for leaving. The water tasted fine lol. Customer service skills are everything. I said that on the Columbus Man post when I saw the hostess calling a customer “bad people” for being upset about poor treatment. The staff really weren’t that friendly or motivated to make for a good experience and are very unapologetic. After the Columbus man post and our experience last night, I see they have some problems. So let me start by giving credit where credit is due. The food wasn't the worst I'd ever had. The portion aren't great but the food is edible. On that note, the place is a waste of time. Waited over 20 minutes for my drink. The waitress said it was because she had to wait on the bartender, yet 2 other ppl at the table had there's in no time and it was the same thing I ordered. Then, because she wrote literally nothing we ordered down, she kept forgetting things or bringing the wrong things to our table. The serving plates that were brought to us were no where near clean, like they had just been wiped off without being looked at after or actually washed. When it came time for the bill, we literally had to give our entire order to her again, as she had wrote nothing down as previously stated. And to top it off, we were informed at the last minute that we were automatically being charged an 18% gratuidy fee, after receiving some of the worst service ever!!! The place is a scam, and I don't see them being around the area much longer, especially when the other pizza place in the same mall has better service and...

Was told 15-20 minute wait to be seated, it was 35 minutes. After being seated it took roughly another 15 minutes to meet our waitress. After ordering it took another 40ish minutes to get our food, salads were brought out with the pizza. Went 30 minutes without even being checked on or asked for drink refills. Staff is definitely not the friendliest or professional. Pizza was as lukewarm as the salad, nasty. Not worth the money at all, not even worth leaving a tip. Talked to the manager on duty or whoever they were and they didn't seem to care about our concerns at all. All they stated was " It's a full house and overwhelming this evening". I've heard good and bad but we tried it and definitely got the bad. Maybe give it another go around in a few months, who knows. But right now there's to much going on with the staff to have a good flowing restaurant. I grew up in the pizza industry, my family owns several pizza joints throughout Indiana and Kentucky, so I love trying new places but this place definitely needs help with staff and service.
