I have ordered from Nikki hibachi a total of 6 times in the last year(about a 20 minute commute). The food was amazing and it kept us coming back even though we have another spot 10 minutes down the road that’s a little cheaper.
Here’s why I give them 2 stars- I ordered in April 2 weeks after my wisdom tooth removal surgery(soup was starting to make me 🤢). I got the noodles(I couldn’t eat rice yet), chicken & shrimp, mushrooms, and double scrambled egg. Well I got home and I received rice instead of noodles. I called the store immediately and asked what my options were. They told me I could come back to the store then and get the noodles or I could come back another day and get the order remade for free. I didn’t want my food getting cold while grabbing the noodles so I said I would come back another day. I took a video of my food with the sticker showing that I received rice instead of noodles in case they questioned in the future considering we don’t order from them very often. Well today I called the store and the employee informed me that they would not be remaking my food as I was told over the phone and the only thing I could get was the noodles for free. If I would’ve known this I would’ve just taken back my food the last time and gotten a refund. I could barely eat the chicken since it was dry and the rice kept getting lodged in the holes in my mouth. I’m not able to add the video of the food being wrong for some reason but I included the text message that I sent to Nikki hibachi showing the order being incorrect.
I’ve worked in fast food and I’ve also worked in a hibachi fast food restaurant. We had to give refunds if the customer didn’t receive their sauce! Let alone if we gave them rice...
Read moreGood food, amazing price, super fast. Ordered the steak hibachi sans veggies = $8.99. Entire container was stuffed with fried rice (may have been less if I got veggies). Good amount of steak. Went with it Medium (just a little chewy but at this price...) will likely get med rare next time. Fried rice had a good flavor, not too salty, and very basic (as you'd expect for J-fried rice). Could use more egg but at this price I'll just pay extra to add more in next time. I didn't even finish half of it, so I'm getting two meals for $9. Awesome deal and glad they are in our neighborhood! Love to see them expand into a limited sushi selection (as long as they make tamago!!!).....
2nd visit, added the extra egg this time, cooked up great at medium rare- $11.99 with the extra egg and a bottle of Coke (I spent that much at Popeyes the other day and didn't even get full, here I got two good meals)
Months later- still solid, modest price increase. Tried the "Egg Yolk Sauce" and it seems like a carmelized-on-top hollendaise, actually pretty good. Also tried Genji-Go and Mr Hibachi Downtown recently and this place slays them both and it's not even close (better, more, and cheaper). Upping to five stars for...
Read moreLISTEN! I don't do s whole lot of leaving reviews on food but GOTD@MN IS THIS ORG@SMIC!!! HOLY AMAZEBALL!!! This is my first time ever eating here and after my ABSOFRICKENLUTELY INCREDIBLE DoorDash order, I'm absolutely dying to go DINE IN and eat because GOOD GODDESS DID THE FOOD POSITIVELY SLAP but before I even got to see my food - before I'd even finished unpacking, I was floored with their customer care and attention to detail. It's rare that places let you leave specific requests or instructions or whatever to begin with, but for them to LITERALLY STICKY NOTE EVERYTHING on it's corresponding item left me laughing hysterically WHILE going, "DAWWWW!!!! THEY'RE SO AWESOME!" I seriously cannot recommend this place enough. Faaaahk THAT WAS GOOOOD!!! AND THE PORTIONS!!!! This could have easily fed me, my partner, AND me be able to eat some...
