I moved to the area less than a year ago from Chicago and was so, so excited to find a place called Piece of Chicago. The pictures looked amazing, and I was so stoked to find a temporary cure to homesickness. However, it became apparent no one making the food has ever eaten any good in Chicago. The pizza is passable, though not particularly good. The crust is too thick and the sausage is just crumbles. The hotdogs, though, despite being advertised as Vienna Beef are definitely not and as seen in the picture, these aren’t Chicago style. Maybe I’m being too picky, but I will not order from here again. I’m so sad it missed the mark by so much.

How is this so well rated, I'm honestly confused. I stopped by this place because it had such good reviews, but wow was I misled. Purchased: chicago style pepperoni pizza It's just bad. It looks bad, it smells bad, and it tastes bad. It had roughly 5 pepperoni pieces across the whole pie, which itself was undercooked. For people trying to find a diamond in the rough, keep looking, there's nothing of value here.

I liked their wings! Good wings for a great price. I also seen that you could get two 6inch subs for $5. They are inexpensive. You can also use EBT/SNAP cards here as well I believe. The wait is a little longer but your food is fresh & hot when you get it so its worth the wait. Give em a shot!

Outstanding food that tastes like "Mama" used to make. Amazing food, friendly service, great prices. The "star" of our meal was pumpkin pie. Out of this world delicious.

We also ordered sweet potato pie. Ordering two or three desserts next time! One taste and it was "back home sweet potato pie" from my childhood.

As the late Tina Turner might say, the food, the service, the pie are "Simply the best!"

Note: We placed our order online for pickup. They texted when it was ready--a full 20 minutes before it was supposed to be ready! Pickup was super easy. No wait. I just showed up and the order was ready. Amazing? You betcha'! This operation is a...

This place serves up some of the best food in the Mt. Vernon Ave area. No pork products or pork by products are served here. My children can eat here, and I know the food is Halal or allowable to eat. Since I or my children do not eat pork, I know I can order what they want and not worry about the ingredients. They serve all three meals and do not close until after dinner hours. I recommend the beef sambusas and the pizza. Can't go wrong there. But they have a wide menu, and you can order various sandwiches and dishes and desserts. If you happen to stop thru, ask for Tony and tell him Khalif...
