Columbus Recreation And Parks Department — Local services in Columbus

Rec and Parks advertise some classes and programs that sound amazing...and yet registration for these classes is an absolute nightmare. I've been waiting for over a month to register. Incorrect information was posted. On registration day, the courses weren't posted. Even after reaching out and specifically saying which class I was trying to register for, there's still issues. I was told "it's posted! Go look!" ...Nope. Still not posted.

I've called. I've emailed. I've messaged on social media.

The Far East location's class registration is just horrific. There's other classes with descriptions that don't match the actual class listing as well! I can't imagine this process being any more...

Columbus Parks and Recreation hosted a Back to School Bash at Blackburn Recreation and Community Center to get area kids ready to go back to school. The event was organized by two fraternal organizations from Ohio State and had bounce houses, games, and over 1000 backpacks and school supplies for kids to go back to school. OSU sports figures were there and Brutus Buckeye and a DJ. For 4 hours kids and families had an AMAZING time - no arguments, just playing, dancing, food and fun. The park manager does an excellent job of building programs for kids and we are looking forward to this...

I love how when Aquatics registration opens, all the Intermediate classes are completely filled, like they were never open in the first place. As far as I can tell, it had only been open for 20 minutes when I checked today. This has been going on for over a year. Why bother pretending like it's open for everyone, when they're most likely getting scooped up by employees for a specific group of people? I'm not a beginner, and I'm sure other people who would like to go aren't either, and they most certainly don't want to take a beginner class just to get on the short list...
