ABSOLUTELY ATROCIOUS! This location is an abhorrent representation of an otherwise well loved brand. I’ve had so many negative experiences with this store on Sullivant Ave but today topped the cake. Called and completed an order with a young woman around 4PM, with expected wait time to be 60-90 minutes. She was very rude on the phone and seemed as if she couldn’t be bothered. After successfully running my credit card information, we concluded the call, my family now all eagerly anticipating our feast. I’m a patient man though, so it wasn’t until an hour and a half later I called to check. At which point a very surly and snide young man proceeded to answer and tell me that no order had been placed. So I requested the manager, who said that none of the employees remember taking such an order or running my credit card. They offered to replace the order for half off. I demanded full compensation, and she had to get approval from her General Manager, who agreed. So again, we wait. An hour later we’re eagerly anticipating the delivery, checking doors and through cracks in the blinds and such. No Papa Johns. Another 30 minutes pass before I call again. To have the phone ring over and over and over for almost 30 minutes. No avail. Finally, the young lady with whom I’d originally spoken to answers to tell me to GO F MYSELF, and hangs up on me. I’ve tried calling another dozen times but at this point I feel drained from having even endeavored thus far. I’m half tempted to drive over there and cause a scene, but, I won’t allow these people to consume any more of my soul. Also, this location has cockroaches. So, I naturally called corporate. A young man named Connor answered the hotline. I was fully prepared to unleash a torrent of hell upon him. Fueled by the raving rage of crying children and a nagging wife, I was on the verge of a conniption. Poor Connor had unwittingly found himself at the brunt end of an oncoming nightmare. And that’s when I realized that he just didn’t deserve it. Nobody does. IT’S JUST PIZZA. Why let it anger you so badly? And can you imagine being Connor, listening to people rage about their pizzas all day and pretending to empathize. I didn’t have it in me to be another one of those pizza psychopaths which surely are the bane of Connors existence. So I’m still waiting on this pizza. Regretfully, I must say that my recent experience at Papa John's Pizza, located at 3691 Sullivant Ave, Columbus, OH 43228, was less than satisfactory. I'm accustomed to evaluating establishments based on their food, service, and overall experience, and sadly, this Papa John's branch failed on each account.
I ordered a Large Garlic Epic Stuffed Crust pizza, customized to my liking, and a side of Bacon Cheesesticks with Special Garlic Dipping Sauce. The pizza, while boasting a robust flavor profile, was tarnished by excessive oil and a lackluster temperature. It was lukewarm at best, which was a disappointing disservice to its potential.
Now, onto the service. Delivery woes commenced with a driver's claim of an attempted delivery — a claim I found hard to believe, given I was home, attentive, and received no Ring camera notification. Upon contacting the establishment, I was met with a series of unprofessional interactions that have no place in a reputable business such as Papa John's. I was promised swift redelivery, but found myself contacting them again after a prolonged wait.
The ensuing exchange left much to be desired. The background noise of a manager berating his staff was a jarring and unpleasant addition to my already cumbersome ordeal. Opting to collect the order myself to expedite the process, I found the store in disarray and the manager, instead of offering solutions, offered a slew of excuses.
The tipping point came when I requested a refund on the tip, to which the manager initially refused. It was only after the threat of corporate involvement that he decided to void the order and issue a full refund. I must note, while the refund was appreciated, it is not a substitute for the time and energy wasted on this unfortunate endeavor.
If there is any takeaway from this experience, it is that this particular branch of Papa John's needs to do a better job of managing their workload and treating their customers with the respect they deserve. And, perhaps, if more attention was paid to preparing orders and less to smoking out front, the quality of both their service and their food would...
Read moreI ordered a pizza online and after the estimated delivery time, I checked the tracker and it said it had been delivered. I checked outside and at my neighbors but I was not delivered. I tried calling the store to inquire about it but there was no answer. I went to the store and spoke to the manager. She said the delivery driver was still out and had just called that she was at the stop before mine. At this point, it was 30 minutes past when it was supposed to be delivered so my pizza would be cold. The manager offered to remake my pizza and said it would be five minutes. Another customer told me the manager was never on the phone and lied about the driver checking in. That customer said she had been waiting for her pizza for 20 minutes. The store phone was ringing the entire time I was waiting and no one seemed at all concerned with answering it even though there were plenty of employees standing around. While waiting, another employee came to the front and was very vocal that she was quitting because another employee was doing coke. Other customers came in with a similar issue as me and was unable to speak with the manager because she was in her office and multiple employees told her customers wanted to speak with her. After waiting 20 minutes from when I spoke with the manager, I asked another employee about the status of my pizza and he found it sitting on a rack. I asked that employee for a refund for the delivery fee and driver tip since I had to come pick it up myself. He said he could not issue a refund but he would get the manager.
