Halal New York Gyro — Restaurant in Columbus

Little piece of New York right here in Columbus! This food truck screams halal platters straight from Broadway. Amazing price for what you get here. I've tried both the chicken and lamb rice platters and can't decide which is better. Both are delicious. Platter comes with a bed of rice, choice of meat, lettuce shreds topped with some kind of house made ranch sauce and some shredded toasted bread slices . I always add the spicy sauce too, but many will not be able to tolerate the heat, for me it was perfect. You will absolutely be satisfied with portion and flavor. Platter comes with a canned soda. Their Mango Lassi is very refreshing. The fellas that run it are filled with energy and charisma, every time I visited, there was someone singing or humming with positive vibes. I was there may 1st 2025 around 4pm I got two plates from them their food dilvery driver was dilvering pots of rice that are not covered. It was in the back of their car delivery the driver was racist I thought when he was backing up the car that he will hit me I said brother you were about to hit me as a joke. His answer was in daylight I can see you but at night I cannot see you mind you I am black. The guy with the grey shirt behind the counter with the little chubby cheeks and mustache laughed out loud while I let him know that whatever he said to me was racist. Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - ordered two Lamb Rice Platter which came with some lettuce, rice, lamb, pita pieces, and their cream/yogurt sauce. One we asked for spicy as well. We got complimentary drinks with the platter as well. The food was amazing! Flavorful lamb, soft rice, fresh lettuce, and fluffy pita bread. The sauce was unique but we both enjoyed it. The tiny dab of spicy packed a punch!

Service: 5/5 - extremely quick service

Ambiance: 3/5 - not in the best neighborhood but located to the right of the gas station. It definitely didn't feel like the safest area to pull into as there were quite a lot of cars pulled into the corner with people loitering next to them.
