So I have some concerns about this place. Let me start by saying I just recently found out about them like 2 months ago my bestfriend told me about the place because I LOVE AUTHENTIC TACOS so we went on taco Tuesday. Anywho, my first visit I fell in love everything was perfect several limes, the red and green sauce was perfect, I ordered a jalapeño on the side (I didn’t know it came with 2) but I was excited about that plus the season they have on it is incredibly flavorful IT WAS THE BEST TACOS I EVER HAD. So me and my best friend kept coming back every day after that my first visit. So about a week later maybe my 9th visit by now they messed up my order. I always get jalapeño on the side but they chopped them in the taco, so I called to tell them and they were cool about it they said they will remake them if I come back. So I went back gave them the old order and they cooked everything fresh. I walked out to the car and I made sure I double checked before I pulled off to head back home they did it again... they had chopped new jalapeños and put them on the side in a different container this time. Of course I went back in and told them it’s wrong again so I waited about 5 minutes for the cooked jalapeño on the side. After that I said I wasn’t going back because the lady who always answers always knows it’s me when I call once I get to saying my order. So it’s been a month now and I decided to give them a try again. I was craving tacos badly I just did a 8hour road trip and was ready to eat these tacos. Long story short I was disappointed. We all know the limes and the sauce is the finishing touch for the taco but obviously not everyone who works there has a love for food. The red sauce had a darker color to it so I automatically smelled it and the smell was a bit bitter and when I tasted it IT WAS WAY OFF. Thank goodness I keep backup in my fridge at home. Also the avocado sauce was real watery this time but it still taste good just way too watery. Then my limes were dry when I squeezed them nothing came out so I didn’t have any backup limes or lime juice in the fridge so I had to eat it without. The only other thing that has me a little upset was the chicken it wasn’t even cut up good I had big chunks in my taco. Such a turn off. If you love to cook like really have a passion for it and running a family business and you have repeating customers they will critique. Presentation is everything, quality and taste. Of course I wasn’t going to call them to have them give me new sauce and limes because that’s minor but still if I lived 5 min away I definitely would’ve went back no problem but I just said I’ll write a review instead because calling in this time won’t do anything. My point in writing this is because you guys need to make sure whoever is in the kitchen prepping and cooking that even if it is a lot of orders coming in you still have to stay true to the original recipe, measurements matter! The taste matters! Quality matters! Presentation matters! Don’t be lazy and halfway do something because I actually do want to keep eating here. I love the authentic tacos I make myself but sometimes I like...
Read moreBack when this place was Zacatecas a few years ago it was my go to spot. Best food ever and so cheap. I tried it after the new ownership and it was not good. They even charged us extra for food and said oh sorry it's because the menus are not updated to new pricing....like seriously???? Then you charge the advertised price! Then I tried them again a year later. They eventually begrudgingly gave us service....we were the only white couple in there which felt old. Not saying it's a race thing but it did feel bad to have two other Hispanic couples come in and get served immediately. So, eventually I decided to try them again another year later. We just decided to leave. We walked in and no one greeted us so we just stood there awkwardly and eventually seated ourselves. I just saw the servers in the back glaring at us. A few minutes later someone brought chips and salsa and left...no drink orders....the salsa was not good at all. It just tasted like tomato juice and cilantro blended together. Once again we were ignored while the other Hispanic couples that came in were greeted and served immediately. I know that correlation does not equal causation but I find it suspect that this happened to me...
Read moreDelicious all the way around Mexican spot. Ordered a barbacoa burrito and 3 different meat tacos. I've had a few taco trucks here in West Columbus, but this has to be the tastiest. Barbacoa had a good blend of fat, making it less chewy. Rice was a little under-seasoned. The fish taco was excellent, with a splash of lime and verde salsa, was on point. The chicken was over-seasoned but still delicious with the tortilla. Will return for more for sure.
Only negative that I'll point out are the patrons I encountered were extremely rude and offensive. As I was trying to enter the place, there was a drunk couple laughing with other patrons inside, blocking the door - as I was eyeing him, waiting for him to move, he looked me up and down and wouldn’t move until moments later. Another patron sitting in the car waiting for his friend from inside was giving me a glaring squinted stare. Not sure what I did other than go pick up food, but seems like they were insinuating that I don't belong there. (I am Arabic and light skinned, maybe...
