Good, comfortable, and local - a winning trio if I've ever seen one.
Rambling House seems to mostly focus on, as other reviews have noted, bluegrass, roots music, and country inflected live performances. their space probably holds no more than 100 people at once, which is great. Easy to access by bus (the 31 stops right outside of it) or bike, and a great contribution to the neighborhood. During a recent performance there was a huge range of ages, from kids to grandparents.
No food selection, but the bar offers a short line of beers and mixed drinks as well as house-made(?) sodas on tap. The ginger beer smelled fantastic!

I usually go to their monthly hosting of the Central Ohio Hot Jazz Society's jam session where SwingColumbus teaches a dance lesson at the beginning and then the floor is open for dancing. It has been a staple for jazz lovers and certainly for our dance scene. We're hoping the next owners do the business justice. Maybe they can fix up the floor so it can be an even better...

Be aware that it may say tickets are sold out online but there are a limited number of spots open for those who didn’t score a ticket. Drinks are reasonably priced. Come early. Bluegrass, open mic, country and lots of fun… Definitely a go to...
