Restaurante Mexicano El Tapatio — Restaurant in Columbus

Went there for my birthday and was awfully disappointed. The fajita meat tasted very low quality. The server didn't seem happy to be serving us, I felt like we were bugging her. She never came to refill our waters or even ask if we wanted any drinks, until we had to ask her if we can order some. My brother ordered a cocktail de camarón and it was one of the saddest sea food dishes I have ever seen. He wasn't given any crackers or nachos to go along with it. It had more tomato water than anything else. The food here is obviously not fresh.

This restaurant tries to be so many things at one time. Are you a seafood restaurant, steak house, or a Mexican restaurant? Choose one and stick to it. The menu is large enough that it loses its identity and raises questions over the quality of the food.

With many awards hanging on their walls, you would have high expectations of their food and service. Unfortunately, I feel like this restaurant has lost its way and needs to find the flare that once made it a vibrant restaurant folks...

Waste of your time, don't bother going... Honestly I have never had a bad experience here before, but after tonight I most definitely will not be back. It was not very busy tonight, after the dinner rush. We had a long wait for food.. my 3 year old was served raw chicken! Our tortillas never came with our meals, the food was dry. And all of our meals came out at various times, and in multiple parts.. Waitress barely spoke English, and played on her phone most of the night. When I complained, another waitress came and yelled at me, saying I knew nothing about customer service, and that it was not her fault the kitchen couldn't cook meals at the same time... Let's clarify, I have worked in customer service my entire life... I had an extreme amount of patience tonight. I had no problem waiting for my food. I expect to wait while it Cooks. My problem was that we left entire meals at the table, meals we never even received the rest of. And the lack of customer service...

Service was friendly and good but the food not so much. It wasn't very good and tasted like it wasn't fresh or maybe even frozen with very little flavor. The meatballs in the soup wasn't done either lots of blood still in them. I would swear my enchilada treated like it had spaghetti sauce on it. Not sure why a Mexican food place would even be serving any kind of Italian food anyway? Won't be going back. I didn't have the heart to tell the waitress how bad it was because she...
