Sumac Mediterranean Grill — Restaurant in Columbus

Finally got the chance to try Sumac Mediterranean Grill and had the best possible experience. I'm excited to have this restaurant in the neighborhood!

The gentlemen working were friendly, and helpful. Explaining the menu, ingredients, options, etc.

Immediately, the freshness of the food is apparent. Everything seemed to be made in-house and full of flavor.

The space was clean and comfortable. Lighting and menu were pleasant and easy to navigate, respectively.

The food was delicious. Every ingredient contributed flavor. The sides and individual options (like pickled cabbage and Sumac Onions) were seasoned. The homemade hummus was delicious and served with soft pita, paprika and olive oil drizzle. The desserts looked decadent. You can tell they are paying attention to the details and it's obvious when I taste the food.

It took me longer than it should have to come in because I expected a bigger menu with unfamiliar options. But our experience couldn't have been simpler. We will be back soon and often.

Let me start out by saying that this place is absolutely delicious and i will be returning multiple times in the future! It is going to be one of my new favorite spots to eat. I heard about Sumac restaurant from a local neighborhood group that I am a part of. I looked it up because I love Mediterranean and the comments from the post said it is a little like Chipotle options wise. I looked at the Google reviews before going and everything was very positive. Mo, one of the co-owners was very friendly and helpful as this was my first time visiting. He let me try some samples of the meat options. I tried the beef and lamb gyro & the chicken schawarma. Both were excellent. I ordered the Greek Fries side and a bowl of half hummus/half rice combination with the beef and lamb gyro meat. Then loaded up my veggies and sauces and got a baklava dessert. All of the ingredients are very fresh, healthy and of high quality. The smell was amazing on the 3 minute drive home. Everything was delicious!
