The restaurant could easily get 5 stars constantly. The waitress not sure if had a long day but 2 hrs before closing was moving around quite unmotivated, almost irritated taking order and taking longer than expected for refills. Perhaps I'm not your typical customer is the only thing that came to mind.
The tacos while not quite authentic I wouldn't expect truly authentic just by its location for one. Nowhere in its name says authentic, and the food is delicious flavor wise even if portion is bot smaller than would expect .
Not sure about reviews saying it was no flavor, it's impossible to get the same exact flavor when there's so many various styles depending on regions and what the restaurant target clientele is.
I can recognize authentic but there's nothing wrong when food is delicious in its own right and unique way as long as it's fresh and cooked well.
Now that out of way, I orderedam appetizer because I was hungry and was afraid food may take a while, I was glad I did; food tool longer tad than expected but luckily appetizer served it's purpose. However I was done with appetizer and waited about 8 minutes . There were but a table of 4 customers mostly there for drinks and coupe other customers. Upon arrival whom I believe was the manager promptly gave me a menu and invited me to take a seat after of short delay of hostess not coming to the rescue. So a point for that for the manager or owner.
The appetizer while not expensive a tad of salsa is somewhat incompete add a dollar of needed.
The tacos the steak was my favorite. Second best would say the fish. I also ordered alpastor and tinga.
Steak 5 stars. Fish 4 stars fluffy great but battery lacking seasoning and salsa.
Al pastor? 3.5. While not bad the flavor would suddenly dissapeared as of the rub was not evenly seasoned or something. When could taste was great
The chicken what I would expect easiest while not bad it being chicken it has too many beans for my taste. Why too many beans? The main ingredient is tinga. The bean flavor should over power the main ingredient.
While it was delicious and the beans help to not have the chicken be too dry, they most likely use chicken breast but due to all the tomatoes the chicken should still be juicy unless the chicken is not actually cooked in the sauce and sauce is poured on chicken and hence nearly dry. While delicious due to about of beans was only taco that ate with the two tortillas.
So double tortillas are usually. Used if. Meats are juicy or have plenty, these didn't need two tortillas being that the filling was just enough for 1. Also the quality of tortillas is big of the flavor of tortillas or quality is not great and on top not heated properly usually they'll give an odor or taste from preservatives. That not Great. If you haven't tasted better tortillas than you won't know.
Anyways since I enjoyed the steak tacos and I was not quite satisfied full, I ordered a plate to go just in case I wanted to eat more. I asked if meat was same as the tacos which I was told it was. So I ordered I pulled over to taste and notice way too many potatoes on that plate and too little meat. For $15+ plate I would of been better off with 3 or even 4 more tacos.
Anyways don't blame the cook, the meat wasn't cooked or tasted the same but waitress said she verified and was told would be the same meat used.
Food flavor is there but service and portions could've better. Even...
Read moreSorry to say this was a disappointment, especially considering there isn’t a lot of competition for decent food places near Reunion (outside of fast food options). My boyfriend has been here once before and said it was decent. However this time around we had too many complaints (and we’re generally easy to please). Before I begin, I will compliment the staff as they did a good job and were friendly and accommodating. Firstly the house marg tasted like salt and ice, but nothing more. Very bland. Second, the chips were stale (and seemed like they were trying to mix old with new, but not successfully)...and the dispenser holding the trio of salsas was filthy with chunks of dried brown stuff all over it, including around the rim of salsas (it looked like it hadn’t been washed for days!). Finally, the food itself was bland and way overpriced for what they delivered. Also it seemed like they’re skimping on ingredients and flavor to save money...delivering a meh product that doesn’t taste good or make me want to come back for more. We asked for Jalepenos on the side, but they didn’t come until asking a second time (and they added it to our bill as an up charge to boot!!). Overall we paid more than $50 for a burrito, three tacos, chips/salsa, and two drinks. Again did I mention our limited restaurant options in this area?? This could be a huge opportunity to wow an attentive audience. Very dissappointing. I hope they step up their game...it will do nothing but keep regulars coming in to...
Read moreI was having high hopes about this spot as there aren’t many restaurants in the area. My family & I have tried this place 4 times hoping the experience would get better with each visit but they REALLY need improvement with everything. Wanting to keep this review short...: •The food isn’t great... I’ve tried 3 different dishes there and they all had the same taste and it wasn’t flavorful. •dishes were priced high for what they are. •when it’s busy, everything is slow... food didn’t come out for over an hour and no one came by our table to refil drinks. •they charge for chips & salsa •their nacho cheese dip tastes exactly like the nacho cheese dip you can purchase at king soopers. ... that’s not a good thing.. hahaha •they charged us just over $30 for 2 shots of Patron...... we are not in L.A.... we are in commerce City. I hope that they improve with food and service though we won’t be back at all. Just because they are located near DIA doesn’t mean they can jack up the prices.... or if they choose to, have great food...
