Simply Sweet Desserts in Kalamazoo, Michigan, is an absolute treasure! I had the pleasure of indulging in their personal tres leches cake, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The cake was perfectly moist, delicately soaked in the rich, creamy milk mixture, and every bite was a delight. Topped with light and fluffy whipped cream, crunchy pistachios, and fragrant rose petals, the dessert was a feast for both the eyes and the palate.

I'm reviewing the product because I have been getting slices from Forest Hill Foods on Forest Hill and Cascade for over a year now, but haven't made it to the brand new storefront in Kalamazoo yet. The Carrot cake is better than Zingerman's. I did a side-by-side comparison. The flavors, moisture, and texture are all superior. So good. I also really like the lemon blueberry cake. I recently picked up the peppermint cheesecake which is lovely and rich with a balance of peppermint to cheesecake flavor, with neither one dominating, and the eggnog cheesecake, which might be my new gold standard. But as good as that it, let’s talk about the banana pudding. Your first thought might be “why should I pay someone to make pudding for me?” Let me tell you why.

It’s freaking PHENOMENAL. I don’t even know how to put into words how luscious and decadent it is. It’s absolutely perfect. I didn’t realize banana pudding could be so dang good omg. As soon as I tasted it I wished I’d bought more than one lol.

Also, the atmosphere in the place is warm and inviting, and the lady who waited on me tonight (I forget her name 🤦🏻‍♀️) was super pleasant and friendly.

I can only imagine that everything they make is amazing and I can’t wait...
