Went into Menards (for the 4th time this week) and was confronted for the first time by an employee standing guard at the door about my not wearing a mask. I explained that I have a doctors note which exempts me from wearing one. I was even prepared to show it to him because I carry it everywhere with me.
Instead of telling me it was Menardâs policy for their private business he barked âI donât care, itâs the law!â First: this man representing menards told me he doesnât care about my well being. And second: itâs not a law (never was).
Had he told me it was a store policy I wouldâve left. But instead he bullied me, which I donât take kindly to. Bullying someone about wearing a mask when it puts them directly in harms way in the name of keeping others âsafeâ seems counterproductive, doesnât it?
Lucky for them Iâm still giving Menards 3 stars because of the outstanding customer service I received from the other three employees I came in contact with that day.
I will however, be placing my $500 lumber order for next week at Home Depot. As well as purchasing all my future supplies from them.

   Read moreWe had a roofing project and ordered the materials through Menards. First, we had an issue over pricing advertised and pricing charged. Then, we scheduled delivery. Two days before we needed the shingles delivered, we were told that their truck (singular) broke down and they couldn't deliver. Really!?! A company the size of Menards would only have one delivery truck available? So, we were forced to find a way to pick up the shingles ourselves, only then to have to make 2 trips more to the store to correct the billing charge for the delivery they didn't make! Finally, we ended up needing one more pack of shingles and took a wrapper from the shingles we had purchased so the store could get us the correct shingles. EVEN WITH THE PACKAGING IN HIS HANDS, THE PERSON AT THE REGISTER RANG UP THE WRONG SHINGLES! So, they sent me around to the warehouse and were about to give me the wrong shingles when I caught their mistake. Then they had me go back around to the store, go to customer service and wait while they "returned" the wrong shingles and rang up the correct ones. I don't want think of the time wasted dealing with Menards. So, If you are going to Menards because you think you can get something cheaper there, consider that you will get what...

Picked out two different ones with him and price checked the one that was not labeled with a price âwith the sales associateâ and went with the cheaper one. When I got to the register the item rang up for over triple the amount displayed. I took pictures of where I located the item and showed them. Their associate is my witness to the price that was displayed. The store did not want to honor the price displayed for the axe. The error is definitely not my own. Definitely just wasted over an hour of my time. Extremely disappointed with the managerâs inability to handle the situation. I clearly stated the Michigan law that was put in place to protect consumers from businesses that participate in this type of behavior. I wonder how often this happens. I will take my business elsewhere from now on. When companies do this type of illegal pricing the consumer has to be compensated according to Michigan legislation.
