I drive by this place daily and finally decided to try it. I walk in and was greeted by everybody working there, it felt like awarm and friendly atmosphere. I look at the menu and told them it was my 1st time there so I didn't know what to try. Someone said their cheese steaks are pretty good. Me being from Pennsylvania and not having a decent cheese steak in about 2 years I decided to give it a shot.(With a side of pasta salad) I also ordered an onion bagel with cream cheese. I had my food to go and maybe waited 5 minutes at most. The Onion bagel was amazing It had a perfect crunch and they give you what you pay for with the cream cheese. On to the cheese steak. They don't use cheez whiz like some cheese steak restaurants do. Now I am used to the restaurants that use American cheese and provolone and Mike's uses provolone so I was fine with that. I am also used to the onions and peppers being mixed in with the steak in this sandwhich But the onions and peppers were placed on top I'm also used to the peppers being grilled a little bit more which was honestly no big deal. The flavor of the steak itself was pretty good. They were very generous with the provolone and the bread had a good taste. On a side note the pasta salad was pretty good and they also included a dill pickle Which also made my day because I love dill pickles. In my conclusion of this review I rate the cheese steak 4 out of 5 stars. And the restaurant itself gets a 5 out of 5. Mike's deli and bagels just earned themselves a customer for life and I can't wait to come back and try more Of what's on their...
Read more1st off my hubs and I LOVE breakfast places and LOVE a good bagel. So we have been to quite a few places in the greater Charlotte area for both. This is our 1st time here and they deserve more than 5 stars. When we walked in Trish and Aiden (and Kia) were so nice and helpful with us picking things out. That was positive by itself but the food is DELISH! The bagels aren’t overly chewy or dense they have the perfect texture and the cream cheese….YUMMO!! We got a bacon egg and pepper jack ADD veggie cream cheese on an everything bagel and a ham egg and cheese add chive cream cheese on an Asiago bagel - both toasted. It really was very very good. I have seen reviews mention price, but honestly if you want quality food it’s not going to be super cheap , but here you get a great sized portion for what you pay for AND it’s a local business so you should feel good about supporting that! We got some sweet treats to go as well and are looking forward to that! They have Rainbow Cookies which I feel like just shows they are authentic NY style. Don’t let any bad reviews detour you from coming out to try this little hole in the wall gem. We are already excited to come back and try more stuff and bring my mom with us!! So if you are out and about and want some good breakfast or lunch give this place a shot. I’m telling you you will not regret it. -...
Read moreWas really hoping this place was going to be amazing. The food was pretty good, but too many small issues for the higher price tag. First off, the my build your own sandwich was menu priced at 11.99, but rang up at 12.97 before toppings. I didn't complain about the dollar increase, but fundamentally, your prices need to be as advertised. If this was for some other reason, it was unclear. Second, my sandwich was made very quickly, which was awesome!... But I waited 8 or 9 minutes for them to call my name so I could leave with my lunch. Why not call me when my food is complete? I had to wait until the person taking the orders wasn't busy so she could distribute the meals. At lunch time, that's a long wait. Third, the sandwich was a bit light on meat. The center was a proper pastrami sandwich thickness! But the edges of the bagel were touching. It was like a dollup of pastrami right in the center of the bagel... If the meat was spread out evenly, it would have been very thin.
Kinda bummed, I was really looking forward to a good deli to frequent, but...
