I ordered queso fundido online. Cheese dip and chorizo. That's it. That is all. Paid online. Was given a time for pickup. Show up to pickup my order, completely ignored for the first 10 minutes. Then they took an order from someone at the bar, then came to me asked what I needed. I told them picking up an order of queso fundido. He said ok. The minutes ticked by.. 10 turned into 20 that turned into 30. Next thing I know I have been waiting in this restaurant for 45 minutes. For cheese dip and chorizo. That is all. The person who ordered after I showed up got his entire order out and I was still getting the run around. At this point I asked for a refund. Because 45 minutes for chorizo and cheese dip?! Come on.. that is just insanity!!!!! After asking for a refund I'm told they can't give me a refund or can't figure out how to give me my money back. The guy literally threw his hands up and walked away from me. Every person I asked about my order told me they'd be right back and then avoided eye contact with me. Cheese dip and chorizo. That's it, that's all. Over 45 minutes, denied a refund and being completely ignored by every staff member working there. This was complete utter bullshit and I will never come back or order from this restaurant going forward. Unreal. No apology, nothing. I finally got my cheese dip and chorizo and left. An hour later. Please save your time and money and go elsewhere, because you are wasting your time and money at this restaurant I promise you. Los compadres in Ashtabula is a great Mexican establishment and I've never ran into any issues there. So they will continue to get my business. Had been looking forward to eating at this restaurant for awhile, it was very disappointing. The atmosphere was not welcoming, none of the staff we encountered, including our bartender, even smiled at us. We told them upon entering that we were going to order our meals to go and have a drink at the bar while waiting for our food. The bartender was rude and rolled his eyes when I asked him about the margarita sampler I wanted to try. He gave us our drinks and left and did not return to take our order or check on us. It was a Saturday night around 9 and we were the only people at the bar, there were 4 or 5 cars in the parking lot. After 10 mins waiting for someone to take our to go order we had to inquire at the host's station and they sent our bartender back. Still no smiles or pleasantries. We ordered our dinners and were interested in the delicious desserts offered in the menu, unfortunately neither of the 2 we wanted were available, nor our 3rd choice. We settled for 2 other desserts bit didn't get those in the end either. They gave us 2 desserts we didn't order, tiny portions, they were Ok. We waited over a half hour for our to go order, during which no one checked on us and we had to ask for chips and salsa. The food was only slightly warm when we finally received it. I went there for dinner yesterday. It was my first time going. My girlfriend and I sat at the bar. There is a decent amount of people in there, but it was not packed. It took forever to get a drink. It took forever to get our food ordered. There were a lot of staff standing around when the final came. The portion size was small and the food appeared to be at least a couple of days old by appearance after taking a bite. It tasted as if the steak that I ordered inside of the dish had went bad. I had my girlfriend try it after telling her I just did not like the dish and she said that the steak has a funny taste to it as well. I did not complain to the staff, but I did tell them so they could know or fix the issue for future customers, the male staff gave me an attitude as if he was offended, but I did not like the dish and sharply asked me what I wanted him to do about it. I told him nothing and I just ate my side dish, which came complementary to the meal giving my main course back to them they took the dish and charge me for my side course in which I did not ask for a refund, but they did nothing to fix the issue.
