Stopped on our through town. They only serve take out and there is a small waiting area in the entrance. The old dining room is blocked off and full of boxes and kids things. There are no restrooms for customers.
The portions are large and the prices reasonable. The food tasted more homemade than most Chinese restaurants - not as salty or greasy. As others mentioned, the sweet and sour sauce is thin, as is the almond chicken sauce. The pork did appear to be chopped up and formed into meatball type shapes before battering and frying. But, the result was tender and delicious! The chop suey and fried rice were very mildly flavored, almost bland, but very fresh tasting. The chown mein noodles had a good wok hay flavor.
Overall, the food was satisfying and didn't leave a heavy feeling after eating. You might be disappointed if you try to compare to offerings in big cities, but it's a nice, family run small business that was doing a steady business on a...
Read moreRare is the review from me that is a take-out experience, but these nice folks are still stuck in scamdemic mode, like it's 2020. Their choice, so I will just shake my head and press on. Regardless, their Chin-Amer fare is absolutely fantastic. One look at their fried proteins will tell the tale. Those are hand-made on the spot, Cochise. Yang Tze Pork had great char sui flavor, and the sides were robust and delicious. We ordered from their 'family style' menu, and for $17 per, it was one helluva lot of food. Wifey kept trying to order some other items, and I had to tell her we were already going to get pounded with the amount of food we had comin'. The leftovers in my fridge will testify to that little factoid. This little town in the middle of nowhere is quite fortunate to have this family to...
Read moreAbsolutely disgusting. It is a sin to even call this Chinese food. While the service was kind enough, and the price at least wasn't ridiculous, the food is god awful. The pork fried rice was dry and obviously old, the couple bites I took were literally crunchy.... I was excited to see they had actual chow mein (crunchy noodle, not soft noodle), but was quickly disappointed when I discovered it had no flavor, like not at all, it was like eating chopped and steamed celery. The sweet and sour sauce that came with the pork and chicken was watery and tasted more like mild teriyaki. And the "meat" peices were severely over cooked and not much of it. The store itself was dirty...
