Here is our experience as a takeout customer. We were hesitant to leave a negative review, but we are still waiting for a response from the manager to our email sent on October 6. Please prioritize your local customers and address their concerns, as they are the ones most likely to support your business in the long run.
Saturday October 6th, I went to your new location in Pine Market, Woodforest TX, around 6pm. I asked if it was possible to order a take out and the ladies at the front desk said it was but that there would be a wait of 30-35 mins because the kitchen was "slammed". No problem I said as I had some errands to run and could return back in that time. I ordered mussels and calamari appetizers, greek salad, lasagne al forno, the chocolate mousse cake, and paid $86.68 (excluding a 10% tip) at 6:04pm.
I returned 35 minutes later to pick up my order. The lady at the front desk looked confused when I said I had come to pick up my order. I showed her my receipt and she took it and reviewed it. Then she threw her head in her hands and exclaimed that my order had been given to someone else because there was a mix up. She apologized for the issue. I wasn't happy but I asked how long would it take to redo the order? She went to the kitchen and came back a few minutes later to say that it would take 20 minutes to make a fresh order. Okay I said I'll wait for the new order.
About 10 minutes later, while I was waiting another woman came in the front door with two plain white plastic bags, that looked like they were carrying something. She gave them to the lady I had been talking to. About 5 mins later, the lady who I had been talking to returned and handed me my order in two bags, similar to the ones that the other lady had been carrying. I then left around 6:50pm, without my receipt because the lady had not returned it to me.
When I got home I discovered that the mussels and calamari were cold, the salad looked "sloppy" like it had been sitting in its vinaigrette for a while, the lasagne was lukewarm, and there was no sign of the chocolate mousse that I had ordered and paid for. Is this the quality of a "freshly made order" OR was it my original order that had been returned and was now cold? Since there was no phone number for the Pine Market location, I phoned the Woodlands location, but no one answered the phone. At that point I was too tired to drive all the way back to the restaurant.
I realize that this was the first weekend the location was open, it was fully booked, and the kitchen was "slammed". I've tried to be understanding through the whole sequence of events but I don't think that it's fair that I paid for a meal that was not "freshly made" and paid for something that...
Read moreMy family and I were in the area and thought we would try this place out. We were pleasantly greeted and seated immediately. We had bread and oil placed on the table and I asked if they had gluten free bread and the young lady said, âyesâ and left. Our waitress came back to our table several minutes later and I asked if they had gluten free bread because I asked the other young lady who brought the bread and she said, âyes.â The waitress said, âoh, they donât speak English.â I said okay, so about the bread, do you have any and she said, âno.â I said okay, if the lobster bisque is gluten free, Iâd like to order it as an appetizer and the gluten free pasta de mare as an entree. She didnât know if it was or wasnât and left to ask. She came back and said it was gluten free and brought it to me a while later. I thought it was delicious and asked my husband to try it. After eating the bisque, I couldnât eat my entree because my stomach was immediately upset. We kept waiting and waiting and our waitress was nowhere to be found, to the point where the waiter serving the table in front of us filled our cups because he noticed no one was helping us. Our waitress finally came back and I asked for the check. It took forever for her to return and it wasnât even a busy night. We received subpar service unfortunately. I took my food to go but my husband said to toss it after getting sick, what a waste. I got home and was violently ill. My husband complained of a stomach ache as well. Luckily, my two kids were okay and didnât try the bisque. After vomiting, I immediately called the restaurant and let them know not to serve that to anyone else. I was thanked for letting them know but please be careful and steer clear of their lobster bisque unless you feel like hugging the toilet.
Edit: the following morning, my 15 year old son said he had a stomach ache all night and felt like throwing up. He had the chicken fettuccine Alfredo and bread with oil.
My husband said the same and he had the lasagna, bread with oil and a few bites of my lobster bisque.
Luckily, my 6 year old daughter was fine. She had bread with oil and spaghetti...

Rating: âââââ (5/5)
I finally had the chance to dine at Nona's last weekend, and it was an experience that absolutely deserves a glowing review. Located at 950 Pine Market Ave Suite 400 in Montgomery, the restaurant has a warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home the moment you walk in.
Our meal started with two incredible appetizers. The Seafood Appetizer (I believe our waiter called it the Frutti di Mare) was spectacularly fresh, featuring a beautiful mix of calamari, shrimp, and scallops that were cooked to perfection. We also shared the Caprese Salad, and it was a classic done rightâripe, juicy tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and basil with a drizzle of exquisite balsamic that had us fighting over the last bite.
For our mains, my partner ordered Nona's Favorite Chicken. The aroma alone was incredible! It was succulent, flavorful, and topped with a rich and savory combination of prosciutto and fontina cheese. A truly standout dish. I, however, have to give the highest praise to the Spaghetti and Meatballs. This was, without a doubt, some of the best I've ever had. The pasta was cooked al dente, the marinara sauce was robust and had a wonderful depth of flavor (you can tell it simmers for hours), and the meatballs were incredibly tender and seasoned beautifully. Itâs the kind of hearty, comforting dish that you crave.
The entire experience was elevated by our server, Eddie. He was attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and had fantastic recommendations. His timing was impeccableâhe checked on us just the right amountâand his genuine, friendly demeanor made us feel so welcome. Thank you, Eddie, for your outstanding service; you truly helped make our night special.
From the food to the service to the ambiance, Nona's is a top-tier dining destination. We cannot...
