Blue Koi Sushi — Restaurant in Contiguous United States

Last night at 8:40 I made a last minute order (they close at 9pm) for the Shogun Family Platter… which is:

1 Spicy Tuna Roll, 1 Salmon Avocado Roll, 1 Crab Meat & Asparagus Roll, 1 Tuna Avocado Roll, 1 California Roll, 2 Miso Soups & 2 Salads

Here are my thoughts: Ginger dressing is common and easy to ruin. Blue Koi’s ginger salad is perfect. Greens are crisp, veggies cut to order and the dressing is as good as it gets..tarte, salty, savory and satisfying. The miso soup that comes with the platter is filled with loads of seaweed, some tofu and a delicate miso broth. Larry, the owner and chef asked me if I like eel sauce or spicy mayo to which I of coarse answered “heck yeah.” This food is just good, man.

My boyfriend and I split this and could not have been more happy with it. Not only is the food very fresh, flavorful and fairly priced, but the service was excellent as well. We got there a few minutes after placing our order and had a wonderful conversation with the owner as we talked about his life as a chef to many celebrities and his history working at world class restaurants.

I would normally never order so close to closing time but we were starving and we’re craving sushi terribly and had heard good things previous.

Not only will we order from here again, I will tell all of my friends to grab a platter or 5 to go and enjoy a fun date-night or family meal they will not forget.

So my husband and I finally found a sushi place that we love close to our house. Super yummy rolls and combos for a reasonable price. The problem we had was with the delivery order food at 4:09 PM we not coded in 45 minutes delivery time today expected. We called them after an hour to see where food was. 5:40 we were pretty upset that our food was not delivered yet. The delivery guy shows up he doesn’t know a word of English and he had the WRONG order. I called Koi to tell them I was coming by to pick up my order. The gentleman on the phone said that he would have it ready for me. To my surprise the place was only 3 minutes from my house. I gave them plenty time to remake the food I get to the restaurant and they hadn’t even started remaking it. I would completely understand if the place was busy but it wasn’t , there was one guy inside and one to-go order ready to be picked up. I’m super sad because we can never get this place our money ever again. They failed. If you’re going to eat here you’re gonna have to go there and pick up the food yourself don’t depend...

I saw this place was open a few days ago. I drive by this storefront on the way to my friends house all the time and I've been wondering when they would open! I'm always down for trying a new sushi place. So I stopped in today for a takeout. Both the guys had on masks and gloves and were very polite. I ordered a crunchy chili tuna roll and the double fire roll. I was surprised by the low prices on the menu. I went out to my car to wait, and they brought it out to me in under 10 min, and it was steaming hot. Once I got home, I couldn't help but notice how good it looked! I was impressed with the food. Delicious! The crunchy chili tuna roll was my favorite of the two, and that one was only $7. (Crazy cheap!) I will definitely be coming back to try some other...
