DO NOT EAT HERE. First time walking in and no one was there except 2 persons behind the register and a person sitting at one of the tables. I place an order and it turns out the person in the dining area was another employee. She walks behind the counter to the cooking area, doesnt wash her hands, and just puts on cooking gloves. No one had on hair nets.
The quoted 10 minute wait was 20 even though I was the only person in there. Sure the food was hot, but the dumplings were so greasy they were disgusting. Not to mention I got 3 bulgogi beef which were nothing more than ground beef with no distinct flavor AND a slight pink hue on the outside of the dumplings but again...no sauce on the meat. Where did the pink come from???? I also got 5 basil chicken and 2 of the flounder special. You would do better going to Trader Joe's and getting a bag of their frozen chicken wontons than getting the basil chicken dumplings from this place. I didn't even touch the flounder specials.
Of the 10 I ordered, I ate 2 chicken and threw the rest away. Bad service, lackadaisical cook staff--mind you the dumplings are frozen and just cooked for you, nothing appeared to be made there (Thank God!)--and TERRIBLE food. DO...
Read moreHalf of the dumpling choices are great, half are not good at all. The service is at least polite, but if you're trying to get in before they close, you should know they don't adhere to their own closing time. I often have them shut machines down about 30 to 45 minutes before closing time, leaving you with few options and their choice of cooking style. They are not even decent enough to adjust the price for uncooked food. They legitimately told is they couldn't cook our food because they were close at 8:45 (for a 9:30 closing). We ordered frozen dumplings to prepare ourselves, and believe it or not, the price was the same. If that's not bad enough, the last 5 times we've gone they've been out of chilli oil and other condiments, leaving us to pack and eat at home anyway. And when they do prepare the food, it takes forever. I've found some awesome mail order dumplings that are way better, delivered, at a tenth of the price, with all the...
Read moreI dropped by this restaurant for the first time today, at the recommendation from my girlfriend who has eaten here on a number of occasions. When I first walked in, the place seemed very quiet, and there was only one other customer who was patiently waiting for his order. That being said. I was able to place my order pretty quickly. There see!Ed to be only a single employee working behind the counter, and serving as the dumpling chef at the same time. I ordered the Shanghai shumai platter, and it's the same dish the my girlfriend has always ordered. With this platter they offer three choices for the protein portion. Pork, chicken, and tofu. I went with what I knew would be safe. The chicken. There are actually ten separate dumplings included with the order. The dumplings also have mixed vegetables, and brown rice mixed in with the chicken. Now I am patiently waiting for the chef to prepare the food, and me and my stomach have great...
