I got to Vegas quite often & have been meaning to try to this place out & was very happy I finally went.
The gf & I had somewhat of a hard time choosing our burgers since they all sound so good. We finally ended up going with the tamago & kinoko with a side of togarashi garlic fries.
Would definitely order the tamago burger again. It was so good! Little messy to eat with all the different components but all the components work so well to provide the right texture, salt level & sweetness. I'd say it is now one of my favorite burgers.
The kinoko was not as good as the tamago, but not terrible overall. It was just lacking in flavor compared to the tamago & didn't have the deep mushroom flavor I expected it to have. All the components sounded like they'd work out well like the tamago to provide great overall flavor but it kinda failed. I think they might have just made a subpar version of the kinoko this time so I'd actually order it again to give it another try.
They fries were great & as always the perfect complement to a burger. The seasoning they used provided a good flavor aside from just salt. They come with what they call crack sauce which seems to be a sweet, somewhat savoury mayo based sauce. I honestly thought it was too sweet when I tried it on it's own but when you have it with your fries & burger you won't want to stop. It just works so well.
I should mention we first went to what I believe is the original location on Jones. There was a long like there & it's much smaller so we decided to come to this location which is bigger, is more modern looking & has shared outside seating with the adjacent bakery.
Service at the register was friendly even given the lunch rush. Parking is not an issue since it's in a plaza with several other businesses.
Can't wait to come here for that tamago burger!
Oh & if you're missing Bachi Burger since they closed down awhile back, the Asian style burgers here somewhat...
Read moreWhile I was excited when they informed me they had a vegetarian patty, it turned out to be too good to be true. First off, she charged us for a drink that we did not order or need. She offered up the cup as a 'water cup' and it wasn't until we checked the receipt that we saw the charge. Secondly, and most importantly, I asked if they would be able to fry the veggie patty in the katsu breading for the number 6 and she assured me they could, so I ordered it. When they brought my order out, it was a wet egg patty with cabbage and sauce on a bun. I asked the cook/server guy about it, and he only said, "Oh no, we don't do that." I expressed my displeasure and he shrugged, offering no recourse or option to get a different burger or anything. The person who took my order made the mistake and this was really gross and no one offered me any kindness, only rudeness and dismissiveness. I tried to contact the manager or something on their website but of course they don't have any contact info on the site which is super sketchy in itself. Zero stars.
Yes, it seems my husband spoke to someone after I left the restaurant and got a refund. You can play that part on your social media as well. The most unprofessional and childish response ever.
Also, saying the veggie patty is a 'special item not on the menu' is puts a lot of weight on you for accommodating your customer. You should be more considerate and respectful of vegetarian and vegan patrons. Being inclusive is a good thing, not an...
Read moreOkay, so this gets 5 stars overall, but with one big caveat: it's way too expensive. They're great burgers, but are they $9 burgers? And they kind of skimp on the fries. You're looking at $15 for a combo.
That said, judging on taste alone, everything is great. I had the spicy burger and my wife had the katsu sandwich. The girl at the counter asked if she wanted it spicy, and she asked "how spicy is it?" And the girl said "not very," so she ordered it. They make it spicy by replacing the sauce that normally comes on it with the spicy sauce from the burger. Although honestly, it looked like they put way more on her sandwich. The girl at the counter was not correct 😂 If you generally like your food REALLY spicy, you'll be fine, but if you want something "not too spicy," don't consider it.
Aside from that everything was absolutely delicious, though. I love the buns they use. Burgers are cooked perfectly. Fries are awesome. Again, wish they gave you more. The tea they serve there is really good as well. Not the kind of place you wanna go all the time, but definitely worth the trip on occasion.
Edit: Thanks for the extra fries, Colin! You rock! Thanks for bringing a great product to the valley. Definitely saw why you guys top so many publications' lists of best...
