**Edit: While I appreciate Benjamin commenting back, he still didnāt address the fact that we never received any free items. We ended up paying for the baguette and free items. Maybe it was a mistake due to the fact, buy 4 get one free was not their normal discount (which I didnāt ask for) but I personally didnāt receive any āfree itemsā. I ended up paying for 2 āfreeā items that Benjamin ended saying heāll give (a baguette & a pastry, which again, I never asked for). And I understand how the paying terminal works, and thatās fine. Iām not trying to be mean. Iāll chalk it up to human error. It just left a bad impression, especially on my birthday lol. Iām just going to eat the cost, literally lol. Buyer Beware! I went to the SW Location for a Birthday treat yesterday around noon (July 4th) and got scammed instead! We go all around town looking for French Cafes/ Restaurants. I love French cuisine. Iām aware French cuisine also tends to be pricey and I donāt mind as long as itās good.
We ordered 2 drinks, 2 Lobster Croissants for dine in and 3 pastries to take home. The one who helped us (possibly the owner?) said if we buy 4 pastries we get one free. But their sign says buy 10 get one free. I figured he was being generous and needed to offload inventory. So I purchased another pastry that I didnāt need to get a free one. Then he offers a baguette for free as well. So I thought, Happy Birthday to me!
When we paid on the pay pad, we didnāt see how much was charged and figured the receipt would be sent via text or email like other cafes do. Never got a receipt. Also on the pay-pad it forces you to tip. We ended up tipping 15% on a $100+ bill for a walk up and order situation! Talk about taking advantage.
When we got the CC charge notification it showed we got charged $135 and change and gasped at the amount. So we calculated everything based on their website prices and realized we got charged for the āFree itemsā and had to pay 15% tip for that! What a scam!
Weāve been to the Henderson location and hadnāt had a problem. But I will not patronize this business. Their Almond Croissant is mediocre. It barely tastes almond-y. Paris Brest Cafe makes the best Almond Croissants and are double the size. The Matcha latte was so sickly sweet and didnāt have a strong matcha taste. I make a better one at home. The other items were fine but nothing to write home about. We still have the āFree itemsā in our freezer because it wasnāt even something we wanted and ended up paying for.
The place was empty except for another couple. So I guess they needed to overcharge to make up the loss. So check your receipts and watch out for āFreeā items. Nothingās for free. Lessoned learned and Happy...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI decided to walk over to this bakery while my husband was having an outpatient surgery done. It was a quick 5-8 minute walk from the surgery center. When I arrived at the bakery they had so many delicious looking pastries in their case to choose from. I decided to order a some pastries and a caramel latte. The young man who was at the counter gave me a few recommendations on which pastries I should select, based on what kind of flavors I liked. One thing that really stood out to me was his attention to detail on the latte I ordered. When he was making it, he asked me about the level of sweetness I wanted, how many pumps of syrup and the temperature level I would like. I wasn't expecting that level of service and I was pleasantly surprised by it. A side note, they only had Torani syrups for the drinks. I would have been better if they had caramel sauce for the drinks. The inside of the bakery is very cute, they have a small section near the cash register where you can purchase food items from France. If I hadn't purchased 6 pastries, I probably would have gotten some of those last minute type purchases. They all looked very interesting. The pastries were put into a very pretty box and I was given instructions to refrigerate any pastries at the end of the night if they were not consumed. All of the pastries were very delicious. None of them were over done and too crispy. The filling in the pistachio one was my favorite. I would go here again. The quality of the pastries and the service I received...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFrom the moment you step inside, you're greeted with amazing customer service. Benjamin, originally from France, has brought a real taste of France right here! The cuisine is absolutely authentic, and you can tell that every dish is crafted with love and the finest ingredients.
We 1st started with their hand crafted drinks. The Pink Baby is a sweet, dreamy concoction with strawberry and coconut, topped with whipped cream. A total delight that my daughter said was better than the Pink drink. If you're a mocha lover, the Dubai Mocha, was their twist of a mocha made with pistachio. My son indulged in their Tiramisu Mocha š .
With two locations, including the original in Henderson that opened seven months ago, Benjamin's is quickly becoming a local favorite.
The sweet treats are irresistible, especially the Dubai Crepe, which is my personal favorite.
We also had the savory options, including the smoked salmon croissant sandwich, the Caprese croissant sandwich, and the breakfast croissant sandwich, and they were all amazing!
Make sure to keep an eye out for the new menu, which promises even more exciting creations like lobster croissants and homemade sauces. Trust me, you don't want to miss out on this...
