We've been going to Millie's with my grandparents for decades. We would stop at Millie's at least once, but usually more than once, during visits here when I was a little girl and as I grew up.

I moved to Sarasota recently and, in spite of new ownership, we had some great experiences at Millie's. For example, Georgia is a fantastic server who always seemed to care about our experience and went above and beyond her technical job to ensure that we had a great meal!

However, we often could not get to Millie's until between 2:00 and 2:30PM. It became clear that George, the owner, does not want to be there late even though we always order immediately and try to rush out (out of courtesy in spite of being paying customers). Over time, it also became quite clear that the kitchen actually closes at about 2:20-2:25PM. The owner can close whenever he wants to; however, he should not advertise that he is open until 2:30PM. I'm not surprised that another reviewer, Georgann Nugent, could not reach anyone there at 2:07PM. They don't appear to want your business if it's close to or within the half hour of 2:30PM. I was a server during law school and I took tables right up until we closed. I gave those guests the same experience as everyone else.

Additionally, several times, Millie's made my mom sick, so you can imagine my horror when I saw the Herald Tribune's list of worst restaurant inspections from March 18-23 (screenshots from the Herald Tribune attached). Thanks to another reviewer, Paul Krauledis, for bringing this to my attention. Thank God we stopped going there for so many reasons!

Once we stopped being loyal to Millie's, we found so many great breakfast spots who DO want and value our business! There are a ton of breakfast places to enjoy in...

From the moment you walk into Millie's, you are greeted with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. The menu is extensive and features a wide variety of breakfast and lunch options, all of which are made with high-quality ingredients and reasonably priced. No matter what you're in the mood for, you're sure to find something delicious at Millie's.

One thing to note is that Millie's is always busy, so be prepared to wait a bit. However, the restaurant is large and efficiently run, so the wait times are usually manageable. Plus, the food is more than worth it.

What makes Millie's truly special is its fascinating history. The restaurant has been a beloved institution in Sarasota for over 50 years, and its namesake, Millie, was a local legend. Her dedication to quality food and exceptional service is still evident in the restaurant today, and the current owners have done a fantastic job of preserving her legacy while also updating the restaurant for modern times.

Overall, I would highly recommend Millie's to anyone looking for a great breakfast or lunch spot in Sarasota. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable, and the history of the restaurant adds a unique and special touch to the overall experience. It's no wonder that it's your favorite...

I like to find unique restaurants to have breakfast when I’m out of my local area. Millie’s came up as a Mom and Pop, non-chain restaurant. I arrived and told there would be a 20 minute wait and it was exactly that. We were taken to a lovey, clean table in exactly 20 minutes. The server arrived immediately. I am one of those who looks at the menu while I wait. This way, I am ready to order as soon as they server approaches. The server was there within a minute and asked if he could start us off with 2 coffees. I said I think we are ready to order. He didn’t flinch. He said go for it. I am a vegetarian so when I order, most servers get confused. Our server didn’t blink any eye. I said - can I have this but do not add this to it? He said- you tell me how you want it, that’s how you will get it. This server was amazing! We ordered 2 more things and the order came to in less than 3 minutes. It was hot, fresh, all my directions were followed and it was out of this world delicious!! Also, the restrooms were immaculate. The restaurant was busy but never loud or obnoxious. I can’t wait to return. Thank you to the wait staff, kitchen staff and...

We go to Sarasota 2x a week for ortho treatment for my knees. Millie's is located on Clark Road just a block down from my Doc in a long row of small businesses. We found this restaurant 2yrs ago when we closed on our home at our lawyer's office in same area. Every meal we've ordered has been good. It's typical restaurant fare, prepared well, just a bit short on right seasonings. Prices are about 10% higher then we usually pay in this area. Service is solid. The place is busy & there's usually a wait at 8am & 12pm. Coffee's good & that's important to us. Turkey burger is $10. Their breakfast dishes are good & the grits are creamy which I enjoy. When I ask for my french fries to be well done I get them well done which is nice. The one thing I find weird & unwelcome is if they're busy & have a waitlist, the waitresses will walk up to your table & say "thank you, have a good day. We have people waiting to be seated so if there's anything else you need let me know." Nothing like being told to get up & get out..🤔😒😕

As a regular to go customer, i finally had the chance to dine in Table for one please! I went in on a Friday right before lunch, and of course they were busy, which is always a plus in my book especially on a weekday an hour before lunch, I waited around 10 minutes for a table which was no biggie. I ordered i believe was called the country breakfast with one biscuit and gravy added to my order, everything was fresh and hot and absolutely delicious! The French Toast was the star of the show as they get their bread from a local bakery, I'd have to say, it was probably one of the best French Toast, I've ever had. My server did disappear and i unfortunately had to ask another server for a drink refill and extra napkins, no a huge deal, just thought I'd mention it. I'll definitely be back to dine in
