The taste of the food was decent, that is the only reason I am giving two stars and not one. Ordered the Ginger beef “dinner portion” for takeout and when I got home and opened the container, I could have sworn someone ate more than half of my food! Holy portion control! Not worth the $17 in any way shape or form. I will drive an extra 15 minutes out of the way into Riverview to either Lemongrass Thai or Tuk Tuk Thai for the same if not better taste but more than twice the portion size. The saddest part here is after reading the reviews about this restaurant, the owner only thanks the people that give 4 or 5 stars, what they don’t understand is those people are happy with their experience, you should be reaching out to the less than four star reviews and seeing how you can earn their business back. Hopefully you’ll take my advice restaurant owners...I literally paid you $17 for an $8 portion and now I’m giving you free business advice, something doesn’t seem fair here.
UPDATE TO THE RESPONSE:
Dear owner, I took the baby corn out and substituted it with broccoli, meaning your claim that the portion size was smaller makes no sense, you really should have not included that detail because I left that complaint out trying not to be too critical, however there were only two small pieces of broccoli in the dinner sized portion, TWO. Your apology is appreciated however it does not dismiss the incredibly small portion size and even the small portion size of the spring rolls, visit either of the two Thai restaurants I mentioned above, their same ginger beef dinner portions are about 3 times yours and they provide between 3-4 spring rolls per order for the same price, and the quality is the same if not better. You should not have tried to justify the problem, just apologize and fix it, but now this looks worse on you. Again, I’m helping you...
Read moreWithin my immediate 2 square miles are literally six different restaurants to get sushi. Ploy Thai would seem to be lower on that list than other restaurants because of it's large Thai menu. However, upon entering the innocuous looking eatery located in a strip center and flanked by a Chilis and a Pet store, you'll understand that you are in for a special treat. The ornate décor doesn't necessarily portend the meal to come, but it simply proves that beauty and setting can make a good meal a great one. The next surprise came when I saw a menu, and even though I came in dead-set on sushi, the Thai dishes looked beyond enticing. I'll be back for those later to be sure. The sushi menu was not elaborate, the special rolls were similar, some fried, some topped with different sauces. My guest and I ordered five rolls, some delicious Thai tea, and a seaweed salad. Without prompting, two steaming bowls of chicken and rice soup were placed in front of us, followed by a plate with 2 spring rolls. Thinking we had the wrong table's order, we asked the server, who assured us it was complimentary with our order! The seaweed salad came out next and it was as big as most side salads in similar restaurants! Here we are feasting, before our main course has even arrived! Finally our rolls came out, in a very timely manner and they were huge! They were 8-12 pieces depending on being a special roll or signature roll and each piece a mouthful for sure! The seafood was fresh, the ingredients were balanced nicely in the rolls, and the rice was sticky and not too heavy. There was enough food left over when we were done for both of us to have another full meal, which we did! All in all, this was a very nice and extremely reasonably priced visit that will definitely require many future...
Read moreBeware if you order from DoorDash and your order comes out incorrectly, there is nothing this restaurant’s willing to do as far as replace the meal. I was treated very rudely when I kindly told the manager that one of two entrees that we ordered had too much fish sauce and I simply wanted it remade. She told me to contact DoorDash, DoorDash only gave me a $10 credit. The meal was $18.95. I called back again and explained I much rather have the meal replaced or a credit. From there she went on about how she pays for DoorDash service, she stated that the entrées were made the same exact way every time not even making a second attempt to try to see if we can reduce the fish sauce. This meal is chicken pad see ew, I literally order it every single time that I get Thai food, but she refused to hear me. Anyway, I let her know that this was the last time we would be a customer and even though I do not like leaving negative reviews, I have to forewarn anyone reading this, For almost $20 an entrée, come on where is the customer service at? $60 dinner, hell yeah I’m going to say something. At the very end of the conversation when I was getting very frustrated, the woman stated I will remake the meal. But it will taste the same. I then said do not worry about it. Please pick better Thai food places, there are PLENTY like Jasmine Thai that...
