After seeing the rating for Scoot's I decided to give it a try, and regretfully I did. I don't know if either today was a bad day or if everyone who has rated it highly has never had good food and the jury is still out. I ordered the brisket sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries and a water. The brisket was burned, hard, and dry. It was so dry that I had to continuously pour their bbq sauce onto it in order to not choke on the dryness. Having just come back from Texas I can tell you that this is not "Texas style" brisket. The best part of my meal was the water and the fries. The person at the counter where I placed my order was very friendly and that was appreciated. I went to find a table and it was dirty so I wiped it down myself and placed the number that I had been given on the corner. After 10 minutes a different person came to my table, took the number, and placed the tray on the table without saying anything. Definitely not a good look for customer service. While eating another group of people came in and went to a table that had also not been cleaned (the table was empty when I arrived so it isn't as though someone just left) and they asked if anyone cleans any of the tables because several others were dirty...this is not good for cleanliness standards. Needless to say, this is the worst brisket I have ever eaten in my life and I do not see...
Read moreI placed my online order at 3:06 PM for a 4:00 PM pickup—plenty of time for the culinary maestros to work their magic, right? Arriving fashionably early at 3:50 PM, I checked in at the register, fully prepared to wait. Little did I know, I’d booked front-row seats to the “Staff Social Media Marathon,” now showing daily!
As I waited, I witnessed a parade of customers breezing in, ordering, and leaving with hot meals faster than you can say “extra fries.” Meanwhile, I became intimately familiar with the wallpaper patterns and contemplated the meaning of life—or at least the meaning of “fast” food.
By 4:15 PM, with my stomach staging a loud protest, I approached the counter to solve the mystery of my missing meal. The staff member looked up from their phone—as if emerging from a deep Instagram trance—gave me a look that screamed, “Ugh, human interaction,” and shuffled to the kitchen. They returned with my food, which apparently had been enjoying an extended stay under the heat lamp, auditioning for the role of “Lukewarm and Dry.”
So, for the grand finale, I got the privilege of savoring cold, desiccated cuisine. But hey, silver lining: the staff got to level up in their favorite mobile games and stayed thoroughly updated on all viral dances. Who needs hot food when you can bask in the glow of such dedicated...
Read moreFirst time customer, I have neglected to eat here for some time, just never feel in the mood for BBQ, but after tonight's visit, trust me Scoot's will put you in the mood.
I'm a glutton for punishment so the family and I got more food than we should have, but I'm glad we did. The onion rigs were delicious thin slices light breading and lightly fried, Homemade ranch was perfect pairing. Sweet Potato Fries were like a dessert. Smoked wings were some of the best I ever had. Thoroughly cooked, not dry, crispy but not burnt on the outside, tossed in BBQ they were a dream. Burnt Ends were text book with a saucy flare. Pork Rinds made fresh, still crackling when they came to the table. Wife had the pulled pork, was delicious and juicy great flavor but still that blank canvas for you to sauce it how you like it. I didn't try the Mac n Cheese, but one of my picky little mac eaters who thinks EZ Mac is the only Mac tore up this home-style Mac N Cheese in record speed so it must have been good.
Price was fair, I paid right around $50 for 5 meals and fed 4 people with food left over. Well worth it. If that seem too high remember you get what you pay for. If you like discount BBQ McDonald's McRib will be in soon enough.
Would have given Scoot's and other star if I could but maxed at...
