If there was ever a place that strived so hard for mediocrity. This would be the place. Sat down for hibachi. The place had a faint urien smell which should have been a warning sign. I just thought it was the fish tank at the entrence. We started by ordering Philly rolls, and sweet tea. They don't have sweet tea for some reason. So ok, not a big thing. The normal tea and Philly rolls came out. I was instantally worried. The fish in the roll wasn't even chilled. It was room temps at best. Almost like the chiller stopped working and they figured no one would notice. The soup came out next, and it was chicken noodle. My wife and I exchanged a look because this was just wow. How do I know it was chicken noodle soup? Because I hate that soup. The cook comes to the table. Checks the orders which were correct. He ask what celebrations people were here for, the people at the table with us had a birthday. He went on with a show (sort of). Mostly he banged the spatula and fork on each other. Then made a dragon shape with rice and put some oil for fire. It was odd. I didn't see the dragon but one lady at the table said she did. So guess we were at the wrong angle. He then cooked the rice for the table and the vegtables. How he managed to make those vegtables soggy I don't know. But he did. The carrots by the way were a sweet patato or yam. Not sure which. He switched to the meats next. We had the filet mignon and lobster. He did cooked the meats first, those were cooked exctly correct. Once all the meats where done he cooked the lobster. That was so over cooked I couldn't eat it. They threw the meat and lobster on top of the rice which made it a fried rice bowl really. Again not a big deal but I don't enjoy it that way, not that he asked. The meal over all was bad enough a lady in the other party asked for hot sauce. When they didn't have that she asked for ketchup. My wife and I were like "Who does that?" but thinking about it. I guess you had to flavor it some how. So perhaps she was the smartest one at the table. Oh, and the birthday! Yeah, nothing. Not an ice cream, not a happy birthday, just nothing. So yeah this place. Not to review their dress code. But the watresses, they were wearing what looked to be a bathrobe and trying to make them look like komono's. I guess if your not used to good hibachi or Sushi this place would be fine. But if you go to these places often, well then it's a big...
Read moreFood was mediocre at best steak was chewy and not enough to vegtables and it was cold because the chef took so long. Waitstaff was the worst part she ignored us and focused on the other family. The chef was unpleasant refusing to speak to us and we had to sit cramped up next to another family and they were loud, annoying and also unpleasant if I could rate the family I’d give them 0 stars the son was rude to his mom and stole his grandmas yum yum sauce the man cursed in front of children and the girl laughed to loud and the girl was laughing too loud for us to enjoy our dining experience The waitstaff refuses to refill our drinks yet refilled the other family’s a lot the waitress wouldn’t even give us our bill and instead continued refilling others drinks while we went thirsty not like our usual experience they need to step up their game...
Read moreThis is such a great find, our friend told us how good it was and we went there with her today for lunch. She got the dynamite sushi roll. Mike and I have never eaten sushi, it was delicious!!! I ate all the wasabi with mine! She and Mike ordered the Hibachi chicken with rice, veggies, miso soup and salad. I got the Hibachi Steak with extra rice and miso soup. All 3 of us thoroughly enjoyed every bite! The salad had a ginger dressing, very tasty and the miso soup was so good! Then lunch came, the steak was so tender, so was the chicken. All 3 plates came with yum yum, ginger and mustard sauces. They all complimented our meal very well! The prices are great for the amount of food you get! We will definitley be back to enjoy watching the chef create our meal on the hibachi next time. Stop in if you are ever in Hayes, Va. you will not be...
