Shrimpers grill and raw bar is a great place to have lunch or dinner when you're near Port Salerno in Stuart Florida. I've been there several times and I've never been unhappy with their food or the great view of the boats and the water. The wait staff is really nice and they knew all the specials and were willing to ask the chef questions in case we had any. I love the eclectic decor and if you're there at night they have lights on the dock which attract fish. Very cool. There is ample handicap parking and a ramp to go into the restaurant. Make sure you take a look at their t-shirts on sale - they are really nice. And, if you like conch chowder theirs compares or in my opinion is better than Conchy Joe's. Always ask for specials and the fish is usually really fresh off the boat. Update - 3/18/2023 Shrimpers continues to be a a great lunch/dinner restaurant. Great waterfront location, Good cocktails, and well prepared fish dishes (although they do have landlubber food like burgers and chicken). The wait staff was very attentive and really knew the specials, and regularly eat the food - This is a plus when we asked questions while ordering. The restaurant has not changed much in four years, and I believe it has gotten better. Well done!

My family and I had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant! It’s rather unassuming and looks a little Homely next to the giant twisted tuna but we were sat right on the water and could hear the live music next door and enjoyed every second! We started with some Conch fritters, coconut shrimp and mozz sticks- they were delicious! I didn’t care for the strawberry horseradish sauce with the shrimp And I would suggest a creamy coconut sauce instead but to each his own. My dad got the mahi entree, sister got scallops, my brother and mom got fish tacos. I just got a side salad. My mom got a mojito and it was one of the best mojitos I’ve ever had in my Life ! The shrimpers margarita was delicious too! Demi was training and shara was our waitress and they were both fantastic and super attentive!

Some places are hard to review. So I give them the Good, The Bad, and The Ugly. The Good: The water side patio is one of my favorites in the Pocket so far. The Goombay Smash is the best rum punch drink I have had in the Pocket and the best I have had since Green Turtle Cay, Bahamas. The not so “Bad”. The food is above average for a restaurant leaning on location. The “Ugly” The server seemed to be mildly annoyed we were slow in our dinning velocity. She was actually pretty good. She just lacked enthusiasm or the ability to make you feel welcome. Maybe just a bad day. 100% I will give them another go. We will test this 5 star review and correct as necessary 😎. Update: we have been back several times and the service has been awesome. 5 start review in check.

Review of Shrimps Grill – A Dangerous Dining Experience

If you want to risk your health on bad oysters, this is the place to do it. I went to Shrimps Grill expecting a fresh seafood meal and ended up with one of the worst dining experiences I’ve had in Stuart. By the time I got home, my stomach was on fire, and I knew exactly why — the oysters they served were not just disappointing, they were dangerous.

When the plate first arrived, I noticed something was off. The oysters had a strong smell, not the briny freshness you expect from seafood that’s been handled properly. The texture was slimy and unpleasant, and the taste was sharp in the wrong way. I stopped eating after only a few bites because they were clearly bad. At the time, I didn’t say anything to the staff. I thought maybe I was being too critical, and I didn’t want to make a scene. That was a mistake. By the time I got home, the reality set in. My stomach was burning, and I was sick for hours. These were not just poorly prepared oysters — they were unsafe.

What makes this worse is that seafood safety is not optional. It’s not about a dish being “off” or “not to my taste.” With oysters, shrimp, and fish, freshness and handling are everything. One slip in the chain of care — whether in storage, preparation, or cooking — can make someone seriously ill. At Shrimps Grill, that basic responsibility seems to be ignored.

I didn’t tell them at the time, but I’m telling them now: serving bad oysters to customers is unacceptable. A restaurant that specializes in seafood should know better. This isn’t just about one bad meal, it’s about the health of everyone who walks through their doors.

The worst part is the disregard for locals. In Stuart, restaurants survive because of the community. Tourists may come and go, but locals return week after week, month after month. If you can’t trust a seafood restaurant in your own town, where can you go? When a place treats locals like they don’t matter — by serving food that could poison them — it’s a betrayal of that trust.

Stuart has a proud reputation as part of the Treasure Coast, a place where seafood should shine. There are so many restaurants here that get it right — fresh, safe, well-prepared meals that reflect the quality of our waters. Shrimps Grill, unfortunately, is not one of them. Until they take food safety seriously, they should not be serving oysters, shrimp, or anything else that requires careful handling.

I will not be going back. And to fellow locals and visitors, I strongly advise against risking your health here. A night out should never end with a stomach on fire, and no restaurant should put its customers in that position.

Final Verdict: Shrimps Grill failed on the most basic level — serving safe food. Bad oysters made me sick, and their disregard for quality is a danger to anyone who eats there. Stuart...

My sister, mom, and I chose Shrimpers to celebrate my sister's birthday tonight. We were looking forward to having a special meal together, at a waterfront seafood restaurant, but the service was so terrible that we ended up leaving without ordering any food.

Our waitress seemed to be in a rush to get our table started, because she kept asking us what we wanted to drink, but as we were trying to share one drink menu it took us some time to decide.

My sister ended up ordering an Aperol Spritz --- a pretty common drink, and that completely threw our server for a loop. Maybe she is accustomed to serving tropical cocktails and isn't familiar with Aperol, but she got very defensive about it, as though we were making up some weird mystery drink to put her on the spot. Not very welcoming.

It probably would have been easier for her to ask a bartender or a manager what it was, instead of treating it like such an inconvenient request. The bartender clearly knew how to make it -- it even had the right garnish.

I had an important menu question -- was there pork in the conch chowder? There are several popular restaurants in the area that add pork to their conch chowder, so I always ask before ordering because I am pescatarian.

At first, she said she didn't know. Then she said she didn't think so. I asked her to check with someone who was certain on how it was prepared, because I don't eat meat. At this point, I was losing confidence in her ability to provide us with even an average dining experience.

She came back carrying our drinks without a tray, which made them drip all over the table. I had to ask for a beer glass, and she brought that to me with her hands on the rim.

I asked her about the conch chowder again. She was like -- oh, it's really good. I asked her if she had inquired about it for me. She looked at me like she had no idea what I was talking about.

I don't know if she was having some kind of medical situation, or if she was self medicating, but there was something very off, and I did not feel comfortable eating there. My family felt the same, so we asked for the check.

I should note that she appeared to only have one other table at this time, so wasn't buried with other guests. And she was middle aged, so I would assume that she would have stronger menu knowledge. Maybe she was new, or maybe having an off night. Whatever it was, we didn't want it to ruin our evening out.

I feel a little bad about writing this, but there is no place for this kind of service when a guest is going to spend a couple hundred dollars on dinner and drinks. Hopefully, this was just a fluke, as it seems like a nice spot.

We were able to get a table at a restaurant nearby, and our experience there was everything that we were hoping...

I went to shrimpy’s tonight, to celebrate my friends graduation from nursing school. Initially we were going to go to twisted tuna but it was packed and there was no parking. So we found this cute little hole in the wall on the water. We went in and sat down and ordered drinks, appetizers, and checked over the menus. Ordered everything, got our drinks and then proceeded to enjoy the night. My husband Vape’s, so he had to go down to the dock and respect for the other diners to smoke. I had to use the restroom, seeing as we just drove 45 minutes to go have dinner. So my friend who graduated nursing and I got up to use the restroom which is in the VERY front of the restaurant. We came back to the table to find it completely empty. The waiters had completely busted our table. I have never been so embarrassed in my life. Needless to say, the young man who was taking care of us apologized and brought us some fresh drinks.. my husband did not get a new drink. I did not get a new water. I was only brought my alcoholic beverage. It was completely uncalled for. To be honest, we were profiled. My husband has a body full of tattoos. He wore a tank top. We live in south Florida. Tank tops are acceptable..We were profiled the waiter straight up said he thought we dined and dashed. This is unbelievable. Now I mentioned this to my group as we were dining and then we hear the employees gossiping about what had just happened. This was very poor on their part. We were already embarrassed. There were at least 10 other people in the dining room, we all heard it. Just Sharing experiences. Food was...
