You better be ready for this one this has to be the absolute best Little secret in Ocala located just next to i-75 on highway 484 in Ocala they might be small in size but they are huge on delicious food customer service and most of all satisfaction I go there in the mornings on my way to market to Marion to market our windproof upside down umbrellas I drive 71 mi door to door and I have to make that a stop on Saturdays and Sundays the best absolute espresso or Cuban coffee you can get any place at all you have two of the most wonderful talented customer for any way young ladies working the front counter along with not only the coffee but the breakfast items and a wonderful pastry display area with delicious pastries everything is far beyond what you could ever imagine and the flan and I happen to love flan better than anybody I'm sure the best one you could ever taste in the back of the kitchen you have a wonderful young lady back there making up the sandwiches and the breakfast trays to perfection never pass this location without stopping them it's the best you could ever do I take my hat off to everyone that's working there they're fantastic they always have a smile on their faces and they're so eager to help you you have to go there for the first time and for the second third and fourth a wonderful idea I always get the Cuban sandwich with everything on it with the mustard and all the meats they grew up to perfection couldn't ask for a better breakfast thank you so much for letting me...

I have been to Tom’s Cuban a handful of times since I moved to Marion Oaks a month ago. It’s hit or miss when it comes to food. Don’t recommend ordering pick up because they’ll give you all the old stuff. Yesterday, I took my whole family there and spent over $100. My mom forgot to order a sandwich so she politely went back in and informed the ladies she forgot to order a sandwich and asked if she could order it to go. I guess getting business is annoying to the ladies working there because they started talking loudly in Spanish that my mom is a white stupid fat American…they should consider themselves lucky I was in the car because I would’ve spoke up, had I heard that. I see I’m not the only person who has witnessed their discrimination amongst people who they THINK aren’t Hispanic. To their surprise, my mom and I speak and understand Spanish just fine and unfortunately my mom had to stand there and listen to them laughing at her and making fun of her for no reason. I will never give these rude women a chance to insult anyone I know again. I will no longer be recommending anyone...

I stopped by to get a snack. A pan de Bono and a empanada. I paid and walked to my car. Took a bite of the pan De Bono ( which I eat all the time) and it was like a piece of rock. I walked back in the place and told the same girl that the bread seemed old and was like a piece of rock/ she said this is how it is. I mentioned to her that the bread was very old and you could hardly bite into it. She walked into the kitchen and another girl came out whom I believe was the manager. With a very tough attitude, she said what do you want me to do? No apology or anything. I told her I didn’t want the bread because it was like a piece of rock. She showed the trash and said throw it in there . Threw $2 on top of the counter and walked away/

WILL NEVER EVER EAT HERE AGAIN!

RUDE! Aweful customer service!!! And TERRIBLE FOOD!

Shame on you Mr owner who allows people like them to work in your store! Bad representation of...

I grew up with Cuban food and I've missed true Cuban sandwiches. We usually go to Publix of all places to grab one- using Boars Head meats. While they don't press them any longer..that magical taste is still there..most times. Today's Cuban at Mary's was "ok". The authentic taste was close but not quite there. The pork wasn't seasoned hardly at all, the ham was mediocre. There was also (almost) too much pork roast. Putting mayo on both sides of bread was new to me. A Cuban should have a good amount of yellow mustard and good pickles. Had to go back in for mustard and pickles. It had about 3-4 pickles on the entire sandwich and they were very very mild dills. The bread had a lot of oily residue on it from the press. I'm really picky about my cubans, cause I've had so many amazing ones all my life, from Miami and Ybor City. I will give them another try for certain and see how it goes.

This is a must stop for me if I’m traveling this stretch of I-75. I don’t care if I just ate, I’m at least grabbing some pastries for a snack later. I once stayed at the hotel behind Tom’s on the way down to Tampa just to get pastries for breakfast the next morning. Yes, I know the hotel has free breakfast but who wants powdered eggs when you can get some Cuban pastries. The sandwiches and pastries are as good as you get in Miami. The coffee is very close to what you would find in Miami. For those who don’t know the history, this location also used to be Mary’s Cuban Kitchen. If you are traveling along I-75, Tom’s is a more convenient stop than Mary’s. Mary’s has a wider menu during the week but comparing the same sandwiches to one another, Tom wins. My go to is the croquette sandwich which is pictured here. It’s filling enough that I usually make it a couple of meals.
