My Review: I visited this restaurant for the first time on Sunday, October 5th. We were traveling from our state to New Hampshire to visit Loon Mountain since my relatives came from another country, and I wanted to take them on a little trip.
We asked if they had takeout meals, but they said, “No, only dine-in.” We said, “Okay, we’ll wait.”
When I went to use the restroom, there was an older man working there — tall, large build, with white hair. He looked at me and said sarcastically, “Of course, you want to use the restroom, and then you won’t sit to eat.” I was shocked by his rude attitude — especially from someone his age and working in a restaurant. I didn’t respond; I just went out and sat with my family.
We ordered breakfast, and honestly, the food was very good. A middle-aged lady was serving our table and she was okay with some attitude!!.
When we finished, my relative insisted on paying the bill. She didn’t leave any tip — her personal choice — as she wasn’t happy with how that man spoke to me or with the overall service.
Before we left, I went to wash my hands. When I came out of the restroom, three employees loudly said, “Thank you for the tip!” in a mocking way. I asked, “Why are you saying that?” They replied, “Because you didn’t leave a tip.” I told them, “That’s not appropriate,” and it was not me who paid and I left $20 with the waitress before walking out.
Outside, my family looked upset and told me that the same man who spoke to me earlier followed them to the car and said, “Thanks for the tip!” again.
The staff’s behavior was very unprofessional and disrespectful. I truly hope management looks into this and makes sure such behavior does not happen again. It’s not acceptable for the reputation of this place or its owners.
I’m willing to explain exactly what happened if anyone from management would like to contact me. I will also be sharing this review on all of the restaurant’s pages so people are aware of how we...
Read morePoor service! waitress doesn’t know how to pay attention to the orders she is taking . I ordered food to be picked up. First off the don’t take credit cards... when I got home the order was wrong. it wouldn’t have been so bad but I had to drive through a snow storm to pick it up . And I could have understood if it was busy but it was not. I was one of 2 people in the restaurant so that was not the issue. When I called to mention the mistake the intelligent employee first tried to tell me the order was right . I got upset and used the word friggen and her snowflake ears were offended and she hung up the phone. Nice business practice Beas nice job hiring someone qualified.. I will not visit your establishment in the future. Nor will I refer you to my many contacts or friends and business associates. I would hate to see the state of your establishment if there were 4 more people ordering food. I suspect the staff would have been in the weeds.. May I suggest the people responsible for my experience stick to things they know like coloring inside the lines and the best glue to use for macaroni are. because I suspect they are out of there depth there.
And might I suggest implementing a safe space for your snowflakes, because I have a feeling with how they operate this won’t be the last time a patron will find himself or herself baffled at the utter disregard that is observed in your establishment.
Ps the lobsters Benedict was awful the lobster was like rubber bands the toast was soggy the hash browns I asked to be substituted for CRISPY hash was cold and the hollindais sauce was old. I have been in the restaurant industry for over 25 years and rarely do you find a place that fails on every level.
Needless to say Beas cafe needs to make some changes. This is not the first time I have been disappointed by beas, but...
Read moreI am a local who has eaten and brought visiting family to Bea’s for years. Never ever again. The older adult male hostess was extremely rude and as he was seating us told my aunt that she “Needs to get out more.” and was “unbelievable.” I have worked in the food industry for years and would have been fired if I ever spoke to a patron that way. If you have an issue go into the kitchen and complain to other staff. The fact he felt bold enough to disrespect customers and have a $100+ tab walk out (4 women and a child who decided we could not eat at an establishment that was willing to be so openly rude.) And this all happened because we simply stated we would be a group of 5 instead of originally 3. We were told the whole party had to be present to be seated but immediately after saying that they took a group behind us that did not have the whole party. We went to Banners instead and waited an extra half an hour but the service was impeccable, so it was worth it. Do better Bea’s because you have lost an entire family of locals because you thought we were just tourist you...
