I am sort of new to Arkansas and this was my second time trying Tacos 4 Life. I must say that I am a very picky eater. Not saying I am proud of this, just putting it out there. And because I am a picky eater I tend to not like a lot of places. Which, again, not something to brag about, however. I really enjoyed Tacos 4 Life. My order was, two tacos, and well, that was it. And of course, the two tacos were hold this, this, and this. Oh yeah, add this too. I know. Trust me, I know. However, the dude at the counter was great. He just popped it right in the register like it was a standard order. I wish I got his name. Tall, brother, nice eyes, and just super cool. Was the order correct? Yep! It was. Did the tacos taste good? Definitely. And to be honest, it would be difficult to find a fault. But what about not receiving the full 5 stars on all categories? Understanding that it was raining the day I went to Tacos 4 Life, I still believe that should not be an excuse. And please keep in mind the floor, and the entire store, were clean. But the floor was slippery. What's more, it was slippery enough to change my walking patter. I needed to do a kind of 'shuffle' to walk around the interior. Having been in the trades in my earlier career, I blame it on their tile selection. The tiles being, what seems like late 90s to early 00s ceramic style, have a smooth texture. And, possibly, would not be approved for service today. Yeah, it sounds like I'm coming off as a know-it-all. However, it was slippery enough that day that I felt the need to write this review. Everything else was great. The food. The service. The staff. All great. But maybe they should consider getting out of the ice rink business and just...
Read moreI have had numerous times over the last few years that made me want to say "Never again, Tacos 4 life." It was never that the food wasn't good, just that I didn't get what I was supposed to, or something was terribly lacking. My go to used to be the chicken quesadilla, which came with the tiny accoutrements of a miniscule pile of pico and a small cup of chipotle sauce. After the first couple of times, the already stingy portions either became smaller or were not included at all. Or the quesadilla was mostly empty tortilla on one half. I like the food and the cause so keep ordering. I've since moved on to trying the various tacos. And I enjoy the refried black beans. This time, an order of $19 for 3 tacos and a personal cheese dip has me again wanting to say "Never again." The tacos were delicious, but my refried black bean side was about 1/4 full and had the look like I had been served someone's half-eaten side. The personal cheese dip was about 2/3 full. Come on, how could you put two spoonfuls of beans in the bottom of a cup and serve that as a legitimate side?? I also work in food service and I can't imagine serving this to someone and thinking it is acceptable. I like the food, but I'm tired of always being disappointed with ridiculously skimpy portions or things left...
Read moreVisitor to Conway. Went here at prime dinner time on Saturday. There's a line but it's moving quickly, the atmosphere and decor is good and the meal for a child in need theme is great. I go to order, order the chips trio (three dips salsa, queso, and guacamole). He says oh we are out of guacamole. I was really disappointed and made it clear that I was. I still wanted the salsa and queso, and asked if I could have a discount on the trio since they didn't have guacamole. He said no, you can have an extra queso or salsa. It was only two of us, didn't really want the extra queso but went ahead with the trio anyways, grudgingly. We sit down and our trio is ready quick, with the orders shortly behind that. After about 10 minutes I see a waiter walking by...with guacamole. ??? Really aggravated that the cashier told me they were out, why did he not tell me just to wait a few minutes?? It's prime dinner time so I don't raise a stink, but the service was really disappointing and this is kind of inexcusable. The taco I ordered was maybe a 3.5/5 tastewise, hard to eat but I figured that when I ordered it (one of their summer specials with grilled shrimp and a lettuce shell). I like the idea of the restaurant but food and service not...
