Cafe Donuts — Restaurant in Coon Rapids

We come here strictly for their donuts which are usually soft and frosted well. They're not too sweet nor bland. My family and I always get a dozen. It seems they've been staffed with young folks who are usually friendly and helpful. We've never ordered any of their breakfast sandwiches or lunch menu items. I've heard other customers try to order and were told they were not selling them. If you're looking for breakfast and menu items, this may not be the place.

My only gripe with this location (I've never visited their other location in Champlin) --- the smell of the store as soon as you walk in. There's a strong chemical smell like someone just mopped the floors. It smells this way every single time we visit. I am hoping they look into updating the inside, so it'll be a nice place to sit and eat donuts. I've never seen any customer actually sit and dine...

I wanted to give this place a chance but after visiting a couple times here's the honest review. 1. Don't bother going to this donut shop for donuts past the first couple hours it's open, there will be barely anything left. And they haven't changed that even after so many reviews saying the same thing. Don't bother ordering anything because I've tried to order something the staff have told me "they don't know how to make it" I tried ordering a drink for my son they told me to pick something else because they don't know how and by my third or fourth choice of picking something different on the menu they "didn't know how" so I gave up. Walked in to get my order that was placed on Monday & found out that they didn’t have the bagels I asked for so you canceled my order without letting me know but since I was there it could be made real quick... I was ready to spend basically $90 for donuts & bagels. The fact that the order got cancelled without any notice to me was very frustrating & extremely unprofessional.
