I went to have breakfast with my best friend since we've been to Fairways for lunch many times & enjoy going to the Biltmore. The place was packed with families, golf players, etc. We waited about 10 mins for a table, seated at 11:20 AM. Waitress took our drink orders which were brought in a timely fashion and took our breakfast orders. I ordered Eggs Benedict and my friend ordered the 3 Egg Omelete. We enjoyed our drinks waiting for our breakfast which took quick some time consideringthe amount of ppl. My friends breakfast was served at 12:20 PM at which time I was informed that there were no more Eggs Benedicts, did I want something else? Obviously the Chef did not give Waitress the information needed to serve appropriately which is unheard of. I asked to speak to the Manager and a very pretty young woman by the name of Isabella came to repeat "robot-like" the same information given by Waitress & that "I could order something else" & she'd take 20% off as told to her by her boss, Steven. I ordered Biltmore Breakfast which should've taken all of no time to make since its 2 fried eggs, bacon is premade as are the potatoes and toast takes 5 minutes. Shortly after I placed my second order the table behind us got served Eggs Benedict. Confusing? I then wanted to speak to Steven, Manager above Isabella. It took him over 20 minutes to show up to repeat the same as Isabella & I still had not gotten my second order. It was only after a young woman that appeared to be in some sort of Supervior (Jayden) position that I went to see where my breakfast was that she stated that it was Hollandise sauce that kitchen ran out of not Eggs Benedict. No one at any point came to say that to me & went ahead made my friends breakfast as she sat there eating alone & I waiting for at least a crumb of toast. The Waitress appeared to care less, & when Steven showed up she was speaking to him in haste to ensure she'd not get reprimanded & disappeared to a table of 8 to take orders. I had to call another server over to ask for the bill & to have my breakfast packed to go. Steven had taken my breakfast off the bill, I had asked for it to go & it still came out to be served at the table. When we finally got our bill a 20% tip had already been charged. I'm now retired but worked in the Food/Customer Service field for 40 yrs. I'm a very good tipper but this has to have been some of the worst service I've experienced in years & the lack of communication/caring between kitchen/server is unacceptable. I got home & opened my breakfast & to my surprise the bacon & eggs totally over cooked. Looked like they'd been sitting in kitchen for hours. What a disappointment for us to see that the Biltmores level of service has deteriorated to that of an expensive Denny's....
Read moreI went to the Biltmore Hotel for breakfast at the Fairways Restaurant and the experience was totally disappointing instead of a pleasant Sunday. It was the worst experience in years of going there. After waiting 20 minutes for a table, the server took another 15 minutes to come over to take our order, and from the beginning he seemed unable to communicate or was simply in a hurry to get more tables and only cared about his money; without worrying about providing proper service as any customer deserves. This was not the only condition that forced me to call the manager named Steven, but also the extreme delay of my breakfast. To make matters worse, instead of finding a solution, this gentleman's responses were repetitive, useless, and offered no real solution worthy of a manager. (I can't understand how the Biltmore, 100 years old in our city, doesn't have a manager up to the task.)
The place was clearly over capacity, which I consider a hygiene violation. I never saw a sign indicating the maximum occupancy allowed, and looking around, the situation was chaotic: they kept moving tables from the outdoor patio inside, causing extreme heat and even earaches from the noise. This is not only uncomfortable, but I consider it unacceptable to violate the established maximum capacity. by the city.
The food was considerably delayed; even my avocado, which is simply avocado bread, took 40 minutes to arrive. When it finally arrived, the quality was also not up to par with a restaurant in such a long-standing hotel. Furthermore, I was automatically charged a 20% tip, and the server, with his poor communication, couldn't clarify anything for me. I wasn't the only one affected; other tables were also upset calling the manager because they had the same frustrating experience. The management seems not to want to solve this; on the contrary, they kept trying to seat more people (How is this possible if you have not been able to satisfy the customers already seated? !!!!!!!) I have repeated the same question to myself many times today, how can a place with extensive experience in the food sector be found and provide service in this poor condition, I consider this service totally unacceptable and a great disappointment for a renowned place in my city which I have loved and seen since I was a child. I hope that this extensive comment will serve so that the person who owns and is in charge of this place that we all love so much will manage and look for a manager who is up to the task and has the ability to lead. I do not recommend going to breakfast at Fairways, it hurts to say this; but it is the conclusion that I was...
Read moreToday I was visiting the fairways restaurant in Biltmore for breakfast with my family thinking that we were going to have a quiet day as a family and to my surprise we have gone through some of the worst experiences since everything was chaos they took about 30 minutes to sit down since the place was full, the waiter took a long time to take our order, while we were sitting waiting for them to bring the food we were observing our environment since there was a lot of noise that caused very annoying the tables on top of others that you could hardly walk since The space was very tight being uncomfortable our food arrived with a delay of almost 1 hour and the only justification of the waiter was that they were full so I ask myself the question so that they receive more customers having that situation of not being able to attend or control those who are already there. I had to call manager Steven to give me an explanation of why the delay and he didn't know how to give a clear answer or offer a solution. I understand that crowded places may have delays, but I think they should improve the organization. It's a nice place, but the experience didn't live up to...
