I got in a bit of a Facebook discussion vis a vis what "corporate" restaurants people would like to see come to our small town (Corinth, MS). I posted that I didn't want to see any and I preferred to eat local. (I've been here a year and the only fast food I've eaten is Chick Fil A - and it was AWFUL!). A woman responded and basically said the local establishments were mediocre at best, and she didn't trust their cleanliness; except for Cinco Hermanos. So when I got back in town from visiting DFW at Christmas I stopped at Cinco Hermanos.
It reminds me of a place in the DFW called "El Paisa". It's basically tacos and burritos and other "Tex-Mex-y" stuff. I got tacos, which basically amounted to what I would call street tacos. They were O.K., but there was nothing particularly interesting about them. They were just good standard fare. The price was right. The side of beans was very large, but a little soupy for my preferences. I can see why someone who favored "fast food / corporate" restaurants would like this place. That said, it is apparently local, and as such deserves several more trips to explore the menu a bit and see what's best. There is a fair amount to choose from and again what I had was fine, but just not something to write home...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreVery nice people, but the food was not seasoned well. Have been here twice now, first time tried 4 tacos lengua. There was a good amount of meat, onion and cilantro between two tortillas, however the tortillas seemed almost store bought and the lengua did not have that wonderful flavor that I am use too when I order it elsewhere. The salsa bar had a good variety and the green was very good. However the red did not have enough flavor to the heat combination. Second time I was there I had a Asada burrito. Price on menu was 6.99 yet Bill came.to almost 9.00 only thing on it was meat, Pico and guacamole. Not very flavorful. Will try them one more time and if they don't get a whole lot better it...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreCinco Hermanos has redeemed Corinth's options for Mexican Food. I grew up in California which offers some of the best burritos and carne asada fries on the planet. I had a carne asada burrito today from here and I am very pleased. It's not as big as the west coast burritos but their flavor profile is great. Thank you for bringing the West Coast style to the South.
Side note- Management please make FRIES available. The Papas Con Carne I ordered tonight was just sliced potatoes with the toppings. The menu does say fries so I was a little confused when I got home to eat it. French fries would be much better than chunks...
