We picked a bad time to try them - looked like 2 softball teams with kids there, Saturday around 1:40pm - and I hope that explains things we had issues with. We started with GTO fries and a pizza slice as appetizers. The fries were barely warm, most of the cheese unmelted, but still a good dish: generous toppings, delicious aoili, real chunks of bacon, and fries were not greasy. The pepperoni slice: you can tell the dough is special, although it was a bit greasy and soggy, plenty of deliciously seasoned sauce, and decent cheese and meat for such a thin crust. We had burgers - they have so many styles to choose from - and they were wonderful. I rarely eat burgers out because they always disappoint me, but not here: the meat reminded me of a good steak, the bun tasted good, had great texture, and held up, and the toppings were delicious. I would have given the service a break, assuming they were overwhelmed, but too many reviews make it sound like it's normally not great. My husband was trying so hard to get her attention, it was like a sit com. He waved and she waved back, but still didn't check table. He resorted to waving his arm like a kid in school. She'd come to table next to us, but kept going away. They only had 2 diet beverages when we were there - Pepsi Zero and Diet Dr. Pepper - and they were both atrocious. Imagine if LaCroix made cokes: the barest whiff of flavor and all the bitterness of artificial sweetener. Atmosphere: decor cute, but brick walls and noisy crowds are an acoustic nightmare. They did have tvs on but silent, and no music, just the cacophony of the teams. We definitely want to try them again, but at a slower time, to give them...
Read moreAbsolutely awesome pizza! Our first time there me and my wife both ordered separate pizzas, and then found out one would’ve filled us up (oh well, extra to take home!). I would say their pizza is the best I have ever had, and that is ranked above my own completely homemade pizza! Since then, my wife has tried a dish with noodles, I cannot remember the name of it, and I have tried a burger. The noodle dish was very good, which is a lot for me to say because I am not a big fan of that kind of thing. The burger was a quality burger as well. Next time back, though, will probably be pizza again, was extremely impressed by that! Apparently the restaurant is owned by a Christian lady who also owns a couple other businesses, who homeschooles her children, and is raising them to work as well - quality virtues I can identify with! Go support this privately owned business instead of Pizza Hut or Little Caesar’s. The prices at Firebirds are very decent, pizzas start at around $11 I believe and the sandwiches are also reasonably priced - a very good deal for some...
Read moreNot a great place. Bad experience. Waitress was rude and told us she hated walking up the stairs for us. After leaving, the owner FOLLOWS US OUT TO OUR CAR asking why we didn’t tip well.
This isn’t how to run a business of any kind. I’ve never had this bad of an experience and I haven’t even mentioned the cold food or lack or drinks. Some of the people with us couldn’t even eat the food because it was cold and had to ask repeatedly for drinks.
We asked for an order of breadsticks and this waitress said they didn’t serve breadsticks. After reminding her that they were on the menu, suddenly remembered that they were 5.95. Everything we asked for was ignored and was a inconvenient chore for the people here.
I’m just appalled that after all this, the owner comes out to ask for more money. Perhaps the tip should’ve a lesson in how to treat people, customer service, or how to...
