I've been going to the New York Pizza Department for many years, it was once, one of the best overall family dining experiences here in Corona. However that is no longer true. The food itself is still fairly good, (which is why I gave ⭐⭐) but the quality, overall customer service and attention to detail are no longer present.
I was told that NYPD ownership recently changed; but it seems not for the better. It seems they believe that they can take a once great establishment and just ignore what once made it great.
I have not dined in NYPD in some time since we usually just order their takeout pizza. However on my last visit my wife, and I decided to eat there. As we entered NYPD, we were told to sit outside because service dogs were not allowed. I told him that I was a disabled veteran and that my service dog was completely legit and we have never been asked to sit outside. I didn't want to make a bigger deal about it so I agreed.
Once we entered the patio we noticed lots of trash and the tables were all filthy, like they had not been cleaned in some time. The server cleaned up our table a bit and he apologized for the mess in the patio. I asked for the manager, who came out and apologized for the mess and for forcing us to sit outside with my service dog. He also informed me that the new owners adopted new rules for service dogs in the business.
The remainder of the meal was ok but the service staff did their best to make us more comfortable, considering we were sitting in a filthy patio with a very clean and compliant service dog.
Unfortunately I will no longer go to or do business with this establishment because of the non informed and unconcerned attitude of ownership.
Hope they read this and also make themselves aware that they are in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Under the ADA, State and local governments, businesses, and nonprofit organizations that serve the public generally must allow "service animals" to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is...
Read moreI drove here from quite a ways away on a recommendation. I ordered ahead and was told it should take 20-25 minutes for my pizza and spaghetti with meatballs. I arrived there around 30 minutes later and was told they were really busy and it would another 5 minutes for my food to be ready. I ended up waiting another 30 minutes and during that time they had 3 tables eating in and two pickup orders which doesn't seem all that busy to me. After half an hour my food was brought up but they forgot to put the toppings on the pizza. They asked if I would like them to put it on. Well obviously since I ordered and paid for it. They said it would take only 2 more minutes and after 10 minutes I finally got my food. The server working the front counter was very nice and apologetic about the whole ordeal at least.
The in store experience wasn't great but at least if the food is good, I guess it makes up for it. The food wasn't good though. The pizza was ok but kind of dry, almost like there isn't any sauce. I tried a slice of pepperoni and it was dripping with oil. The spaghetti and meatballs were by far the worst, absolutely horrible. The pasta was wet and the sauce watery with no real flavor. The meatballs almost made me throw up though, they taste like plain ground beef that was boiled. No flavor, no seasoning, nothing. And it didn't even come with garlic bread, just a piece of cold baguette.
I'm disappointed I drove all the way here to try it but even if I lived right across the street, I still wouldn't be back. Maybe I just came in at a bad time or caught them on a bad day but it was so bad I'm not coming back to give them...
Read moreParking is good. Area is nice. Entry way is easy to find. Let's get into it!
Upon walking in I noticed people already seated and eating. It was around 12pm on a Monday. I was greeted immediately by a young man. He helped me navigate the large menu.
I ended up ordering. One pepperoni pizza One half cheese and supreme with jalapeños Buffalo wings House salad
Let's get into the pizza right away. Pizza looked like NY style good sign. Biting into it. Ok wow does taste like NY pizza actually I was surprised. However it is missing sauce. It's definitely a bit dry. Maybe either ask for extra marinara on the pizza or some on the side to dip. Other than that? Pizza tastes great!
buffalo wings. Cooked to perfection. Ordered the medium hot. Lots of sauce and good chicken. I'd 100% order this again.
House salad. Asked for no spinach but it was put in there anyways so I couldn't eat it unfortunately.
Inside was clean but a bit cluttered. Just from those few things that's why it's a 4 star not 5.
When you walk into here you're expecting good pizza. The pizza is good but just needs more sauce. So overall would I return? Without a doubt yes. I'd love to try some other things on their menu. Also the prices aren't bad either. Enjoy!
Food: above average. Decor: a bit cluttered but the theme makes sense. Cleanliness: very clean. Staff: no issues with staff at all. Bathrooms: N.A....
