Utopia Sushi & Ramen — Restaurant in Corona

Bad experience at this supposably high rated sushi spot. Came here while on a trip to the beach. Despite the hype and high ratings my visit was a letdown. The restaurant looked nice enough I guess.

Ordered the Kayu Ramen and a few sushi rolls. The ramen was luke warm, with mushy noodles and a bland broth. The sushi was even worse. The rice was hard and fell apart, while the fish was warm.

Service was slow and unattentive, despite the restaurant not being particularly busy. Our server seemed disinterested and was nowhere to be found when we wanted to raise concerns about the food.

I'm baffled by the glowing reviews this place has recieved. Maybe they are riding on there reputation from when they first opened, but the quality has clearly slipped. For the prices they charge ($20-30 per person for lunch), you'd expect much better. There are likely far superior Japanese restaurants in corona. Save your money and go elsewhere for authentic, quality sushi and ramen. Don't waste...

We came here only because our old sushi place is closed due to the fire that happened next door. We were bummed to find out it’s closed so we decided to give this place a try and boy was it a good choice. At first we were hesitant but went in. The place is super nice of course it’s a new bldg lol then our waitress came and brought the menu and we ask which ones were the best top ten rolls but in her mind the entire menu was great lol 😂 however we decided to choose and got the sale buy one get one 50%off. Our order came fast and we were greeted with some amazing and beautiful looking rolls served and a super nice shape plate which presentation to me is great and this didnt disappoint. Then we moved forward to start eating and omg this rolls were soooooo good and also a nice size roll. Everything we tried was amazing. Had an awesome experience there twice w my fiancée. The servers were extremely polite and attentive. Specially the white girl lol she was the only white server among all the other Asians 🤣 I asked her for recommendation on a roll, she gave me and I went with the other one LOL but the rolls were great, presentation is amazing, and on top of it, the pricing was fantastic!! Affordable and quality sushi is so good 😭 I’m so sad I’m moving out of SoCal. I’m gonna miss this place :/ But honestly only good things to say about this place. If you are in the area and wants to try some quality and affordable sushi, this is THE SPOT 😮‍💨 Always leave them a fat tip, they deserve it 😌
