Gave this place another chance and again major disappointmentā¦. We got there and it was so dark that we couldnt see the menu and the music was blasting, we couldnt hear eachotherā¦. Then we ordered a plate that says its for two but what we got was a sad looking plate that cost $40 ⦠it was okay and i say okay because i dont want to say horrible but it was for the price we paidā¦. We ordered 2 lemonades one marg and that sad looking plate and it came out to $80 and change⦠i was floored to how much the bill was⦠i dont understand the hype that this place gets⦠i have gone 3x and all 3x have been less than acceptableā¦. I will not go anymore and i dont believe the reviews that are postedā¦.
We went in Sunday morning and at first I thought it was a cute place. We sat at bar and were greeted and offered the menu. We looked over menu and noticed that all the tvs had the same thing on, so i asked if we could change the tv in front of us and were told that they couldnt be changed and they all have to be on the same thing. We ordered our drinks, one horchata and a michelada. The first thing I noticed was the michelada was in a to go cup.. So after a while the cup got soggy as To Go cups usually do ...so wasn't feeling that one we ordered sopes which were OK nothing to get excited about. We were never giving utensils or napkins and nobody came around to ask us if we needed anything towards the end, we wanted to order another Michelada so we let the girl know and instead of making the michelada she started sweeping and cleaning up, we decided to just go. We got up and let the girl know that we wanted to canceled the drink. After that we still waited for somebody to bring the check and at that point. I just got up and left. My friend stood and he paid the bill.. Needless to say, I will not be going back to this place and don't know how much it cost, but whatever it was was too much in my eyes because there's other places that I could spend my money. And the place was not that busy for us to be ignored the way we were.. So if you're thinking about coming here, don't, go somewhere else. One thing I would like to point out is the artwork on the walls was beautiful. That was probably the only thing that I...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIf hype could cook, this place would be Michelin-starred. Unfortunately, hype doesnāt make tacos.
First off, the food tasted fine. Not life-changing, not ācall your mom about itā good, just fine. Problem is, the prices were acting like I just got served tacos blessed by Gordon Ramsay himself. Spoiler: they werenāt.
And the tortillas? Whoever thought one flimsy, medium-sized tortilla (not street, not standard, just awkward) could hold a taco together clearly hates joy. By the second bite, I was basically eating taco salad off my plate. Double tortilla is Taco 101. Fail.
The salsa? Bland enough to make Pace Picante look gourmet. Napkins? The kind youād get from the 99 cent store. Salsa cups? Plastic. Which, honestly, matched the ātrying way too hard to look upscaleā vibe.
If they ever figure out the basics, like real napkins, actual dishware, and, I donāt know, tacos that stay together, maybe Iād consider coming back. Until then, if youāre rolling in six figures and want something to post on Instagram before it falls apart in your hands, go wild. The rest of us? Weāll pass.
āWhatās in your wallet?ā Hopefully not enough to waste here again.
By the way, only one waitress speaks English. It bugged me because my wife is not Mexican and she couldn't understand her. I'm not 100% sure if she didn't speak English or if she was trying to make a statement. It was weird.
Lastly, the food wasn't hot. It was more like room temperature. Which maybe the Health Department should show up unexpected and let them know that it's unacceptable....
Ā Ā Ā Read moreSaw a reel showcasing the brunch here. Was excited to come. Location at corner of commercial center. Easy parking. Atmosphere - there's outdoor seating available. Indoors it was dark. By bar great presentation of alcohol bottles. There's two painted murals. Beautiful. Music playing. Service - I walked in. Shortly after a hostess approached booth but was on the phone. Didn't acknowledge me. No finger signalling or mouthing of 'one moment'. I wasn't in a hurry. After she hung up she asked for how many. I said 1 and she said all she had was stools at the bar; even though only 2 tables were occupied. I sat at the bar about 7 minutes with no attention. Luckily I had a book and read. Other patrons arrived, were seated and server approached them. Finally a bartender came to get a bottle near me and asked if I wanted a drink. I asked for a water and ordered. He tried to push some alvohol. I said no. A bit after a lady named Karen took over that area. She was attentive. Refilled my glass, inquired about food and if I needed anything else. Because of her I gave another star to service. Food - I ordered the strawberry toast w lechera. Really looking forward to it. Food came out quick. Colorful with the different berries. Plate wasn't bad. Toast was well cooked on one side. And the lechera was watered down - disappointing. I asked about it and was told it was specially made in house. It had little flavor and consistency of non...
