Mariscos El Güero — Restaurant in Corona

I’m pretty disappointed that the food I ordered tonight smelled and tasted like it was rotten and disgusting. Tonight I ordered 2 Ensenada oysters and I was expecting it to be as delicious as their other seafood I had previously enjoyed eating.

The service was patient with me while I tried to figure out what I wanted to eat. I settled for the ensenada oysters with shrimp thinking it sounded delicious at the time. I regret not opening it to verify my order was correct because if I did the smell would’ve cleared the entire restaurant and would have immediately asked for my money back.

It was putrid and smelled very disgusting.

I’m not saying their entire selection isn’t fresh I just believe this particular batch of oysters was past its prime. I’m extremely disappointed that they think it would be acceptable for something like that could be given to a patron with a smile and with confidence knowing once I open it I would be disgusted. I opened it in my car on the way home and my wife and kids begged me to put it away as it stench the whole car. It was horrendous. Smelled like oysters that have been left out in the sun for days. I will be notifying the manager as he seems very professional when he took my order and I’m hoping this won’t happen to anyone else.

2nd time, tried your food total fail.. celebrated my wife birthday there so disappointed.. next time put bell boy understand the customer request… certainly, but I came in the door walking in and wanted to celebrate my wife’s birthday. The gentleman that it was end door. I have told him that I just wanna do a little small birthday surprise and he took the like I was joking around. I didn’t quite like that after work he was treating the waitress with an attitude, I don’t understand what kind of greeting. He was hoping to get from return from me. I try to be a nice customer as possible, but he has like this big temper. I don’t understand either. Either was my presence for being there or he has a problem with tall man and second the food was a little old. I don’t understand how come the they look like they were open hours ago, but this is my resell to you. I’ve been with Google maps for the past nine years and I had commented good results for those that deserve it. We wanted to try the "best mariscos in town"... NOT really in our experience!!! Space too small, loud and crowded. Their wait time estimates are unrealistic. They told us about 20min for 2 brackets and a cocktail to-go. We patiently waited about an hour! We got the food and took off. When at home we realized we were shorted a basket. We kept calling the restaurant, they never picked up. (Once at the restaurant, they say that the phone is disconnected at 5pm. Whaaaatt!?) So, we drove back. They had the rest of our food on the counter. We asked for it to be reheated including the one we had taken. They were apologetic and not knowing what they did, we took off again. At home, the food was stale and chewy, they just microwaved it, incredible!!! We ended up sharing the cocktail and disposing of the baskets. We did NOT want to go back and will not go back again.
