J. Boys Restaurant — Restaurant in Corpus Christi

This was my first time dining at JBoys, and our first inpression was not good. It started with a very young waitress that had no clue about the menu. I asked about the Filet Mignon and she responded, is that the catfish filet? I asked where they source their meat, bit she did not know. The menu states that the have both Filet Mignon and Ribeye Steaks, bit when I asked for the Filet, I was told they only had the Ribeye.

So, I ordered the 16OZ Ribeye and my wife and the Hamburger. When they brought out the Ribeye, it was presented in multiple pieces, which I thought was weird. One large piece was all fat, so I couldn't do anything with that. The remaining pieces where small amlnd not very thick amd the meat was luke warm.

They advertised a 16OZ Ribeye special for $32, what i received was maybe a 10OZ. If they are going to charge more for a steak than The Texas Roadhouse, they might want to step it up a bit. We paid $72.00 for two entrées, one water and one iced tea. Those prices are not what we would expect for a small restaurant in Calallen. I don't believe we will be...

My wife and I dined at J. Boys restaurant for our first time today. We ordered SW egg rolls for an appetizer, and we loved them..so very tasty! My wife ordered a taco, and thought it was delicious. I ordered the American cheese burger that came with French fries and onion rings (there was a long list of side dishes to choose from), and the cheese burger was the best I have ever eaten! Crazy good!! The cheese burger is large and served with delicious onion rings and plenty of French fries! I loved it! Our waitress, Marissa, was so nice. She was very friendly and personable, and explained the many orders available on the menu. She served our orders quickly, steaming hot, fresh off the grill. She provided containers for our take away items, that was too much food to eat at the restaurant. What a wonderful, new restaurant located right across the street from Wendy's on Northwest Blvd. I highly recommend this restaurant and commend the staff! I've been lazy with reviews lately but I've absolutely gotta give a shout out after my first visit. I ordered the all American burger with onion rings. Asked for it medium well, received a burger somewhere between medium rare and medium. Hungry as I was and not wanting to complain I proceeded to eat. Well half the burger gone and Kari comes to check on me and I had no intentions of asking for another burger, but wanted to point out the error to her just for future reference. Well Kari absolutely insists that I allow her to remake it, AND that my meal was now on the house. I said no I can't but Kari will not take no for an answer and well..... what can I say the customer service was stellar, they are fun and funny people, very friendly, and the burgers are huge and delicious, especially when they're free 😝 No but seriously? Best dang burgers in town, and the people running the place absolutely have an above and beyond...
